Owner description: This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

“A lovely contrast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

Nice has many faces modern, kinda modern and old style. The Viele ville is very atmospheric and quirky. It is close to Cours Saleya where the place is busy and the bars restaurants buzzing.

“Wake up early for the Flower Market”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

Absolutely loved the fresh flowers and produce each morning at Vieille Ville. Sad that we are unable to purchase any flowers to bring home with us.

Worth waking up early, I got there around 8:30am and found all the shops to be open. The hotel told us they start around 7:30am. Would recommend taking a walk to Castle Hill right after.

“Beautiful Cours Saleya”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

This whole spot should be in the National Register of Historic Places. I love the meandering narrow streets, the colorful buildings in fuschia, orange and ochre yellow, small shops, the fantastic Marches Aux Fleurs( how I love the pots of Mimosa), a great variety of restaurants=Restaurant Blandin, Granny's Place, Restaurant Les Ponchettes, and many more; Fenocchio gelati, all the churches in the neighborhood and on Monday, the very interesting Bric-a-Brac market....just like a flea market only the goods are a tad decent. There's more...this is a wonderland and I need to stop writing. Just go....

“You didn't visit Nice if you didn't visit Vieille Ville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Old Town has an abundance of shops, bars, and treats to offer. The cocktails are usually pricy, but you do get the quality that you pay for (sometimes surprise tapas come with your drink!). Fantastic food and great atmosphere to walk around in. Great to visit at any time of the day, but it definitely comes to life with music and drink at night!

“Hidden treasures”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

Although often packed with tourists a place that must be seen. While there look up, look around, you may find an old clock perched hidden by all the stores in the market place. The narrow streets, a small square, a church, explore as so many tourists miss the essential, so busy looking at all those tempting shops restaurants...
