“Brilliant service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

The food was very good and the service from the waiter was excellent. The attention from the waiter was on the level you'd expect from a waiter on a michelin star restaurant. Made us feel very welcome and was always there when we needed something.

“A Gem you need to discover”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

After a very long train trip from Pisa to Nice, we arrived at our hotel very late. We were staying at the very budget Hotel Dante on Rue Andrioli and were resigned to having maybe not getting dinner as the area around the hotel seemed pretty shutdown. As we walked toward Rue Dante we noticed some welcoming lights on the corner. When we got there we looked in the windows and were surprised to see a very chic but inviting looking restaurant. In fact it looked like it might be to good for us, as we looked pretty bedraggled from our journey. After a quick search around the area we realized this was it and we better get in quick as it was almost 11pm.
There were a couple of large groups taking up half the room, but the host put us just far enough away not to be disturbed, but definitely not in the "corner".
From that moment on we had one of the best restaurant experiences ever! Our host welcomed us warmly and answered our questions patiently. Even though he had two huge parties to take care of he was very attentive to us and service was efficient and unrushed. I ordered a steak and my wife ordered ravioli with crayfish. Before our meals arrived we were given a complimentary serving of a delicious melon soup.
My steak was perfectly cooked with a sauce so devine that I soaked all my fried potatoes in it to make sure nothing was wasted. My wife's ravioli was superb, with a very nice seafood broth. We felt so comfortable that we stayed for dessert and tea and lingered for a long while. When we told our host that our daughter had stayed back at the hotel because she had a cold, he had the chef make up a takeout order for her.
The other parties were French and I'm guessing this is a locals place as it isn't on the main tourist drag. My advice, find it, its worth it. Its just a couple of street up from the promenade. If you're looking for excellent food and awesome French hospitality, this is the place.

Melody is a great restaurant. We enjoyed the delicious meal, the variety of the menu, and the attentive and professional service. The live music made this a special place to dine.

“Best Meal Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

This restaurant is amazing. The owners are attentive, food is amazing, price is reasonable for the quality. I has scallops in an carrot, ginger purée -- my husband had the duck. The desserts were fabulous, apple tartine and the trip with crime brûlée, tiramisu, and a mini-souffle. We thought we had been eating well in Nice, but this blew us away it was so much better that the other restaurants we have enjoyed.

“Beautiful food in elegant surroundings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012

After reading such glowing reviews, we were determined to try out MelodyNice - just west of rue Gambetta. A little off the tourist track (but quite convenient from our hotel in the rue Rossini). If you want lively noise and atmosphere, with a terrace table and cheap fare of pizza and pasta, this is not for you. All the tables are indoors in this 8 month-old restaurant and the décor is cool and spacious. The set lunch menu (Tues to Fri) is amazing value for the quality; 2 courses for 15 euros.
We settled for just a plat du jour, as we were about to head off to the airport. My 'bourride du pêcheur', a typical Provençal fish and veg broth, was delicate and truly delicious. Give it a try!
My husband's 'magret de canard' was the best and tenderest he had ever eaten. At 6 euros a glass, the wine was not the cheapest in town but very good.
There was great attention to detail and a friendly welcome from everyone . They deserve huge success, which, I am sure, they will find in a discerning local clientèle. Lets hope it doesn't get TOO booked up. We will be rushing back when next in Nice!
