I'm hopeful that this review will pop up as a google search for everyone who is searching for how to get to the top of the hill to see the nice panoramic view of Nice. Here's what you do....go down to the beach. This is the main street called Promenade Des Anglais (Bay of Angels Boulevard). You will need to walk down this boulevard until you see a huge word "CASTEL" on the wall the borders the beach. Please see the pics. The boulevard will bend dramatically. You will also see bright orange and yellow buildings which is a hotel, as well as, a circular structure.
You know you've reach the right place for the elevator if you see a neon blue sign that reads "ASCENTEUR DU CHATEAU". You'll see many arches and walk down the hallway until you find people waiting for the elevator. I believe you have to close and open the door yourselves and doesn't open automatically (but don't quote on that). It's about 1 minute up to the top (90 kilometers, I believe).
Walk around and see if you can find the waterfalls at the top. Also, I believe there is an archaeological site there (but my wife and I didn't explore). Finally, there's a park in there and 3 excellent spots for panoramic views. Please check the pics (we went on a cloudy day). Enjoy and if I missed anything to this post, please add below. I hope you found this information helpful!
One more thing....the elevator is FREE!!! Free is the right price!
