The walk/climb is a bit challenging in the heat, but it's worth it. Great views of the city from one side and great views of the harbour from the other side. The cascade is great, not just to look at, but to benfit from the spray to cool you down. Best of all it's free.

Free attraction, I was glad to take an elevator ride to a beautiful view. It is at the end of Promenade des Anglais. Easily found.

we walked up and down in the late afternoon and evening and the views were stunning well worth the warm walk. the bus does go so this is an option too for those less keen on walking up and down hills. we found stairs down so this was much easier but walk up and pavements was fine too.

It is the top draw in the town to take in some of Nice's most spectacular views and enchanting gardens surrounding the ruins of the castle that once stood here. The outlook over the old city {vieux Nice},the spires and the Baie-des-Anges are mesmerizing.
Near the end of Quay Etats-Unis,you will find the steps leading up to the parc du chateau. Its a good walk up,passing waterfalls, pools and gardens along the way. There is wheelchair
access via the lift {ascenseur} or for those labled' tourists',there is the Petite train de Nice. Once on top,you feel on top of the world as Nice unfolds before your eyes This is eye-candy.
Tip...do the ascent from the old town to appreciate the changing visual treat that elevation creates. Its magic. Needs a little fitness.
Tip.... There is a very interesting cemetery on your climb that boasts some of Nice's early family names

It had easy access via a lift. Once up there the views were fantastic and there was a lot of open space. There is a cafe where we could buy drinks.
