“Nice pretty hotel in Nice”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

Booked through expedia and paid only $73/night for a pretty and charming room with a chandelier, balcony that opens to the garden, and a spacious, clean and big bathroom. The location is close to the beach about 3 minutes walk, we walked from the train station to the hotel (to and from) about 11 minutes on a straight road Rue Rivoli which becomes Rue Berlioz until Ave Thiers where the train station is located.Place Massena is about 15 minutes walk and the streets of Old town are 5 minutes away from Massena. Couple of Boulangerie's located within walking distance - one on Rue Berlioz(turn right from the hotel and go straight for bakery on your left)and another one right from the hotel and first left until bakery J.Multari on your right. We didn't pay the 12euros for breakfast instead had good treats from Multari and more(O.juice, madeleine's, chocolates, chips etc.) from supermarket Marche Casino right across from Multari. Got bread, cheese and fruits from Cours Saleya, climbed up the Chateau hill for a nice picnic with a view :)

Stayed at this hotel for only one night and although the room was very small it was clean and the front desk staff were extremely helpful. Fortunately they allowed us to store our luggage after check-out for a few hours until our departure.

We booked this as a good deal three months ago- and got upgraded on arrival. It is definitely value for money, though parts are in need of refurbishment. Nicely located for the Airport bus ( both there and back) - ask for Rivoli (or Negresco- everyone knows that). The cost is 4 euros each way rather than the 30 euros by taxi.
Staff extremely friendly- but would suggest booking the best room available. Even on the road side of the hotel it was not too noisey ( Room 15). Showers rather than baths are the norm. AC worked extremely well and quietly.
For bus transport from Nice to Grasse and from Nice to Monaco is a staggering 1 euro per person. must be the cheapest bus service in the world !
A drink at the Westminster Hotel's patio is also recommended in the sunshine, overlooking the Promenade des Angles.
Would stay again.

Room Tip: Go for the best rooms- do not consider the basement ones

And We stayed in Villa Rivoli for four nights in the beginning of October. The good points of this hotel are : the position , the fact that was clean, the Wi-Fi connection and the good price that we got for the room concerning that it was low season.
The bad points wouldn’t be noticeable unless one of them wouldn’t be …too bad. So, the room was small but that is OK for me, the half of the staff was not helpful at all!!!! But the main problem was the room itself. They accommodate us to a room that was connecting to the next room with a door! (Check the photos) The door was of course locked but due to the fact that there was no wall between the rooms but just a door, you could hear every little thing. Imagine that I couldn’t sleep because the man next to me was snoring and it was literally next to me! Unacceptable!

Older but very nice hotel 3 blocks from the beach. Helpful staff. Upgrade your room to stay off the street view. The street light is very bright. You will have to close the shutters if you get a street view room. The rooms are "quaint". Breakfast was not included but it was good and reasonably priced. An easy walk to the 23 bus line which goes to the airport. 4 or 5 blocks to walking district and about the same to the train station. Better to be away from the train station area.

We stayed here for 5 nights during the carnival season in feb. staff spoke good English and were very helpful. We had a basic room, no. 6, which was very clean and decorated in a nice French way. Bed very comfortable. Free wifi available in the room. Location is excellent, very central and lots of restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again, very good value for money - have paid the same price for the ibis near nice station and this was far better.
