“If you are looking for a budjet hotel with central location, this is a good choice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2011

The hotel is very central located, 5 minutes walk from old town, just 2 minutes from main shopping street and under 10 minutes walk to beach. The rooms have everything you really need (air condition, TV, quite good beds) and the bathrooms are newly renovated. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels are changed. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom. We booked the hotel via www.galahotels.com, as their rates include breakfast (normally breakfast is not included and costs ca. 8€ extra) and the price was the same as for example through booking.com. The breakfast was all you really need- bread and croissants, cereals, egg, ham and cheese, jam and youghurt. Coffee mascine where you can choose your favourite coffee or a hot chocolate.
The hotel personnel was very friendly and helpful. We arrived already 9 a.m., and they gave us the room already at 11 a.m. which was very good.
There was some room renovations going onas we were there (no disturbance though)- maybe next they would also change the carpets of the corridors, they were really the only thing I disliked. Also a tip for the hotel - it would be nice if you'd put mirrors in the room as well and maybe 2 drinking glasses (not just plastic cups). The ladies travelling together and only 1 mirror in the bathroom...But if you have a budget under 100€/night and want a central located hotel, this is a very good choice. The area is clean and safe (I wouldn't reccommend hotels next to the railway station)

This is a no frills hotel that is clean, safe (access code/buzzer to access main door), in a good location and a nice price. We originally booked for a 5 person room but they instead split us up 3 and 2 at no extra cost which made things more comfortable. The gentleman manning the reception was very friendly, spoke good English and provided useful direction and site seeing advice. The location is a ~10/15min walk from the train station, a 5 minute walk to the bus station that accesses Monaco/airport/etc. and a leisurely stroll to old town/beach.

Has clean rooms.

Air conditioning did not work first night, but the next day, they got it fixed.

Hotel is not handicapped accessible, and is not recommended for anyone who cannot do at least some steps or at least lift their luggage up or down the steps. Elevator stops midway between floors, so a half-flight is required either up or down to each floor.

Shower curtain does not do a good job of containing water, and bathroom floods easily during a shower.

A room facing the back is preferable. If your room faces the front, you will hear a lot of street nice, especially motorcycles, which are constant. Not the hotel's fault.

Hotel staff is very nice. We had some perishable food of our own, and the hotel staff gladly stored it in their own refrigerator, allowing us access anytime 7AM-11PM.

Be sure to check in by 11PM. Desk is unmanned during those hours.

Also, parking garage is located a block and a half away. Be sure to double-park and drop off your luggage before parking.

Garage supposedly offers special rates for hotel guests, but when we paid garage, they failed to do so. We are currently disputing this with our credit card. Not hotel's fault.

The hotel's similar to the EasyHotels chain in Britain, small-ish rooms with basic but clean and uniform provision of bed, shower, toilet and TV. That said, the colour scheme wasn't garish, or at least not unpleasant, the room was well air-conditioned, staff personable and whilst nothing special, it was comfortable. The free wifi works, and the hotel's secured with a code panel at night. H33's well positioned, off the main shopping road towards the train station, and a short walk from the old town, as well as being easy to find.

H33 had mixed reviews on Tripadvisor. Earlier ones cited bedbugs etc (2008) but recent ones had no mention of those evil creatures, so we took the chance and booked it. We found the place to be clean, and the people manning reception to be friendly and helpful. Location wise, it was just a short walk to the main street where the tram runs. We took bus 98 from the airport to the main square, and it was just a short 10 min walk to the hotel - if you look it up on the map and know which direction you're heading! The elevators are indeed small, and slow, but after the initial check-in with baggage, the stairs weren't too steep.
A note about Nice - I got pick pocketed while getting into the tram. This girl was pushing me to get into the tram and this is their modus operandi. I was irritated by her and clutched on to my handbag tighter but she still managed to flick my wallet and coin purse as she pushed me towards the center of the tram and she got off at the next stop! BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS!!
Not a nice experience in Nice!

A funky hotel of good value and quality for the price paid. Well maintained, a small but very functional bathroom, extremely convienient location. Overall to recommend.

Nicely situated, rooms are a bit old but clean. Bathroom is larger than most newish. Heating is by small a/c and room can take a while to heat up in the winter. Staff are friendly.

Wifi was fine.
Off-season it was quite cheap - about 35 Euros a night as I recall.
