Had reservations for an early seating (7:00) which is a must and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We had 2 French speakers and 2 linguistically challenged. The waitress was very good at accommodating both. Everyones food was really really good and we indulged on a number of outside the box choices. The menu is authentic and varied and I would encourage a sense of adventure as the rewards are there for those at take a risk. All in all a great experience.

I got off the plane and came straight to this restaurant to eat. There isn't a big crowd during lunch time if you are there slightly earlier (i was there at 12pm). I ordered an entrecote medium and it was really good. Simple presentation but big on taste. Had 2 glasses of red wine with that as well. The cost is very reasonable considering the quality you get. Not disappointed at all.

Had an amazing duck here. Cooked perfectly, just delicious. Fiancée got the duck special, which we both thought was good but a little fishy. Seemed to be most cost effective of restaurants we are at in France and a very cool atmosphere (very small place inside). Would highly recommend! My favorite in nice of the three dinner places we went to (Oliviera and In Vino Verita being other two).

This was quite possibly the best meal we have had in France. Whilst travelling in South France we found Le Bistrot d'Antoine listed in the Michelin Guide so decided to book in advance to avoid disappointment. It is situated in the old town area of Nice which makes it a little harder to find without the internet on your phone but adds to the atmosphere of the place.

The food was fantastic, excellent french cooking, made simple but with great attention to detail. The atmosphere was bustling with a mixture of locals, obvious foodies (like us) and tourists. We were sat downstairs near the bar and open kitchen which was very relaxed but it looked like upstairs would have been just as good. The menu was varied and the chalk board menu suggested it changes daily to suit seasonal produce.

It was not the cheapest place to go for lunch but definitely worth it and we would have definitely come back for another meal if we stayed in the city longer. We would definitely recommend booking in advance though. We originally wanted a table for dinner in the evening but was fully booked so we went for lunch instead. We saw a number of customers turned away whilst we were there and lunchtime opening was strictly 1 to 3pm like a lot of popular restaurants in France.

You absolutely must book or you have no chance of getting in. The staff are friendly, if a little rushed at times due to the popularity. The quality is always great, having eaten there a dozen times or so. The thing I like about the restaurant is their uncompromising principle of well cooked traditional French food. Whilst most other Old Town restaurants give up and serve the same dishes as all the rest (no kitch French decor can overcome a "Spaghetti Carbonara" dish of the day), the Bistrot is not afraid to serve up kidney or pigs trotters. Despite giving the individual categories 4/5, I gave it a 5 overall due to the unique menu that makes it an essential stop on visiting.
