For any visitor to Nice at all interested in art, this gallery should not be missed. The gallery itself is a fine piece of modern architecture & purpose-built to exhibit the Chagall collection. The paintings are therefore displayed to best effect & look spectacular. Don’t forget to go into the auditorium to see the stained glass windows. The main hall has 12 large paintings illustrating stories from the Old Testament. In another hall, non-biblical paintings from his earlier period are hung. Take some kind of photo ID & you get an audio-guide included with your entry ticket.
