“Great Musee for a Great Artist”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

This is one of the most unique musees I've been in. It's dedicated to one artist who actually helped to design it. It is one of the best Chagall collections in the world, if not the best.

“You can experience real Chagall and his life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

This visit was second time to go there for me.
I had been there 25 years ago.
At that time, I liked his way of using various colors with harmony, impressive composition, etc.
I had spent half day in the museum.

This time, I was moved by his works so much.
During this two and half decades, I had learned sad story of his and Juish in old Russia, his melancholy for his home town, his love for family, especially his wife.
With such understanding of his life behind his masterpieces, your staying in this museum will be very meaningfull one.
I felt my happiness by visiting this great and peaceful museum with my wife.

Fantastic collection of his works, photos, mosaics, the day we went entry was free thank you! The film in the library is great & looking at the stain glass mesmerising. The museum cafe is very good to set in a lovely garden.

“Beautiful museum”

Very well laid out with space and quiet. Not child friendly at all. Peaceful location and cool in the trees.

“Chagall really comes to life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

We loved this museum even more than we expected, as Chagall's inspiration came through his paintings the layout and the curator's notes. A painter who radiated love of humanity through his work. Song of Songs series and the biblical series in the main gallery were very well displayed and brought across their power to those new and familiar with his work. It was also a bonus to see some of his stained glass and even the mosaic.
