We traveled by train from Paris to Nice to find ourselves bathed in sunshine in our rooms facing the sea. The hotel is not very modern and has a tiny lift but at least it has a lift. The prices are moderate and the hotel is very convenient to Old Nice. It has a lovely breakfast room also facing the sea which was very welcome.

Room Tip: Stay here only if you get a room with a sea view and balcony!

This four star hotel is a difficult hotel to rate. The superior room was okay, but not anything more than what one would find in a three or better two star hotels. The view from the balcony (with two chairs and small table) is the one you see in a Matisse painting whose Nice apartment was twenty or thirty yards from this hotel. Otherwise, the room was good, not great. A large and well-appointed bathroom, but a very small and awkward closet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is within five minutes of the Cours Salyea, the old town and many good restaurants. The breakfast is 17E per person and nothing one wouldn’t get at any two or three star hotel. There are several cafes close by on the Cours for great coffee, croissants and juice for 5.50 per person. And it’s fun to sit and watch the market being set up. Nice but expensive – and how long are you going to be in your room or on the balcony. Our cost was about 195E per night (without breakfast) and that was an internet rate deal. The rack rate gets into the mid 200Es – and that’s a lot for a three star hotel with a five star view. So I guess the four stars is the average.

Room Tip: It seems that virtually all rooms above the 1st (2nd American) have a balcony looking out onto the P...

Nice little boutique hotel in Nice. Concerrning the view it's one of the best places to go. We stayed in a privilège-room on the fourth floor. We had a little balcony overlooking the sea and the whole Promenade des Anglais and the Quai des Etats-Unis. The staff is very attentive, due to the renovation the interior up to date and clean. Bathroom and it's amenities are 4-star-standard. But since it's an old building the rooms are quite small and due to that there's not much of storage room. So if you travel with loads of luggage you'll get into trouble. As well, it's quite noisy since the main beach road is just in front of the hotel and there's quite a lot of traffic. Despite those two con's I would go there again even if the room rates are quite high.

Room Tip: Go for a privilège-room - the view in the upper floors is worth the higher price.

Got a view room with balcony right on the curve of the Quai Etats-Unis alongside Vielle Ville (Old Town) with its markets, architecture and restaurants.

The room is very clean and well-appointed, the bed comfy, but this room was all about the balcony, as though you are practically in the ocean. We finished off our last bottle of Segurat wine smiling at the ocean.

Parking is paid-only, two choices - one entry underground in Old Town less $$, one entry above ground by the water for the boating folk. We chose the above ground at 2E/hour. To us it was worth it as this was more convenient.

They just got their 4th star BTW, a big deal representing the hard work of the staff and management. I applaud them for that!

Room Tip: View room with balcony!!!

Stayed 2 nights May 2013. First night fine. Second night no wifi throughout the hotel (should be free). Also, the second night, water started dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom. It was pretty late when I got in and I was leaving the next morning, so I didn't call the manager. When I checked out the next morning, I told the reception and all she said was, "sorry about that."
View is great. Location pretty good. Did not have breakfast. Street below can be noisy.

Stayed here for my birthday!
Wow the view from our balcony was something else! Our room was very nice.
A little hard for us to find from the bus stop.
Shops, and restaurants are all close by.
Take a hike up behind the hotel to see the waterfall for something fun to do!

Room Tip: get a balcony with a view of the sea

Everything about this place is first class; from the cleanliness of the room, friendly reception people and most of all the spectacular view. We had a priviledge room on the fourth floor and were not disappointed; Cannot comment breakfast did not take it. Left luggage available as we had a late flight. Superb. Would stay again gets our 5 stars; Merci Hotel Suisse.Outstanding place and view.
