Full seaview while not too much traffic noise makes this a place where you can stay in your average hotel room an just enjoy. Good value for low season money. Parking can be a problem, but a car is not needed to get to city centre. The hotel itself is small and corridors are narrow, but a healthy and delicate brekfast make you leave this hotel with a good feeling.

The Hotel Suisse offers great value for money in February when Nice is surprisingly beautiful. Nothing too special about the clean & small rooms. Just the staggering view over the baie des anges...as far as the alpilles in a sunny day. Great, healthy breakfast too. Untypical for the usual coffee & croissant routine in France.

The best view of the promenade, fantastic sunset,
just downstairs from the Ascanseur with pinetrees and fantastic view of the marina! 2 minutes walking to open market! The room is not big, but nicely decorated with renovated bathroom! We will definitely return!

Perfect base for a short break. We had a first floor sea view room which was clean and comfortable. Ideally located for the Old town with all its lovely restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel looked attractive, served on cake stands but at 17 Euro, and with a sea view but too expensive. Stroll out to the brasseries for petit dejeuner and its just 7 Euro.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel has a boutique feel about it with pastel colours.
Do not use the toilets on the first floor as the light sensors go out and do not come back on, you are left in pitch dark trying to feel your way out, very scary indeed!!
If arriving by bus from the airport get off at Le Port.
Overall, a fantastic place to stay, would definately recommend it. Enjoy!!

Room Tip: Definately opt for a sea view, you will always remember it !

I stayed at this hotel over christmas 2012 with my mum in a twin room, which was pretty standard as it goes and not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The room was very clean and the lift was average by french standards, but the reception staff did kindly give us a room on the highest floor as requested. The colours and the decor inside the room were soft and soothing which we both liked very much. And the view from the balcony? Breathtaking. We had wanted a sea view so looked at other hotels like the meridien and the negresco but settled on the suisse after seeing photos from their balconies. It is undoubtedly the best hotel view in the whole of Nice and looks out onto the old town with the promenade stretching off towards the airport. The only down side is that it's a good 10-15 minute walk to get to the centre of town and Jean Medecin, while the train station is at least 25 minutes away on foot. But Cours Saleya is a mere 5 minutes and offers lots of quality restaurants and a flower market open every day except mondays.

The one down side was the incredibly over-priced breakfast buffet. If you could even call it that. We paid €17 per person one morning for 2 slices of salami and 2 burnt pain au chocolats, while the woman who ran the breakfast ran around like a chicken with no head on trying to sort us out with coffees and not knowing whether she was coming or going. Baring in mind we were the only clients eating at this time. The eggs and sausages had already finished when we got downstairs at 9am. Better save your money, and your time (because you'll definitely be waiting a while!) and just have breakfast somewhere else. I recommend the Scotch Tea House on Avenue de Verdun or Liber'tea in Place Magenta. Both great alternatives!

Room Tip: ask for a room on the top floor for the best view of Nice
