This was our first trip to France and just by chance stumbled on the Hotel Suisse. A fantastic little hotel at the end of town with a great view overlooking the Sea. The location was perfect, as we walked everwhere we went while in Nice. We will stay here again during our next time in Nice.

Stayed here two nights while in Nice. We were traveling by train thru the countryside so we had to walk to the train station. Easy for us as we are in shape and travel light but it was a good 30 min walk, and that is without getting lost! The hotel is clean the people are inviting and the views from our 5th floor balcony were incredible. Free internet is a plus. Bathrooms were the largest we had in all our time in France. You do here other guests who might not be so quite but that can't be the hotel's fault. The elevator is about as big as a phone booth...We fit slightly sideways and only had one bag. Walk to old town is just a few minutes, I normally don't like to spend this kind of money on a room that we won't be in except at night but I would always make the exception if returning to Nice. We actually stayed in the room more just to sit and watch the waves. We didn't eat the breakfast but it looks like a lot of choices.

Room Tip: spend the money on a balcony view...you probably won't be disappointed

I chose this hotel based on other reviews, and i agree with them all. Get a sea view room, it was spectacular. Walking distance to Old Nice (great dining there!). Staff were very happy to help with restaurant recommendations and reservations based on what were were looking for, as well as helping us navigate the public transport system. If you stay here just be aware there is no parking and parking is very expensive in Nice, but the hotel staff can help you get a long-term parking parking pass that is cheaper than you doing it yourself. Two small niggles was that the elevator is very small (2 persons or one and a suitcase), and slow so this made getting luggage up to our room a bit of a process. Also one of the days our room did not get made up until 4:45, and we were home from our day's outing by then so the lady did it while we were on the balcony enjoying some champagne. But once you see the view all that becomes insignificant.

This was the indulgent part of our trip, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Highly recommend.

The staff is friendly, the rooms commodious, and the view is nothing short of fantastic. The location is at the edge of the Promenade des Anglais strip, and therefore does not feature quite as frenetic foot traffic as the rest of the coastline hotels do. Located just around the bend from the port area, therefore a quick, scenic walk from "the other" Nice. Just outside "old town" Nice and right next to the steps (and elevator) to the high point, the old castle ruins above Nice. This is a great hotel, and especially worth getting a room with a balcony.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony!

All the other reports are accurate regarding the position and the views. Just superb.
Very close to the old City. Amazing sunsets from the little balcony.
The breakfasts were very good too.
Some things to take into account:
We had a standard room with a balcony. It is really very tiny.
My wife & I have clam-shell type suitcases and the only space there is to open them is on the bed.
The one and only lift is the slowest that I have ever encountered and we walked the two floors rather than wait.
Rooms are quite noisy and two howling infants next door woke us and kept us up at 2:00am.
Parking is at a nearby open-air parking area not far away. Expect to pay €2.00 per hour.

Excellent view of the coast is what that sums it all. It was a bit too far from the Train station but it is all worth it. Walk a bit past the old town and it is possible to take a tran at 1 Euro swiftly to the train station.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in October. The superior room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. Larger than the standard in France. We had a small but functional balcony overlooking the strip. The service and attention to the guests at the front desk is not very inviting. For example, during our stay we decided to go for brunch at a restaurant that required reservations. The front desk employee was occupied with what appeared to be a personal call, when finally she decided to end her phone conversation, we asked if she can help us with a reservation at this restaurant for brunch to what she responded that was not necessary. We went to the restaurant directly and we were told that reservations were a must and that they were full. Very upseting. Still is a good value for the location and the size of the room.
