The Novotel Arenas is somewhere to put your head down for an evening but not much more.

The Pros:
The assistance and advice from the service staff during the day was outstanding
The Rooms are extraordinarily well cleaned
At the Airport end - it's a pleasant walk along the famous Promenade to the old town of Nice and is well positioned with regular cheap bus services and the train.
It's a small number of minutes away from the Nice Airport and yet I never heard an airplane for the entire week I stayed there.

The Cons
The service from the night staff was extraordinarily poor
No iron and board in the room and this and any extra towels and pillows requires a trip down to the front desk to get them.
The F&B - having stayed at a number of Novotels around the world I've always experienced consistently good F&B - not so much at this property which was disappointing. The breakfast was limited in scope, all the coffee was underwhelming and the dinner and room service meals were made with little visible care and devoid of flavour.
The size of the room TVs is incredibly small and I could find only one english language channel - a news channel - across all the channels - when staying for a week like I did this became tired very very quickly.

I'd recommend the Novotel Nice Arenas as an average business hotel. You should not consider it if you are on leisure but for work it provides the bare minimum one expects - hot showers, reasonable bed. The Novotel Arenas is certainly not the worst hotel experience but it's not fabulous either - it's just averagely okay. The big asset is the daytime reception staff.

Room Tip: away from the lifts, up high

We booked this hotel due to it's proximity to the airport so we could turn in the rental car and use their shuttle to pick us up and take us back the next morning for our flight back to the US. Surprise #1: The shuttle driver was not only extremely polite but helped us immediately loading and unloading our suitcases. At the hotel we were met warmly at the front desk The place was attractive, clean and offered some additional security in-so-far as you had to use your room key to gain access to the elevator floor where you room was located.Small rooms but larger baths and spotless. The restaurant was good but we did notice a favoritism for the French business lunchers as opposed to guest, but we had time, so it was not a bother. Food was good.

Room Tip: Did see any difference in floors or sides of hotel. Just a good place for a good night's sleep b...

I stopped there for few hrs just to rest between my flights. Free shuttle is available on phone request 24/7, but I was too impatient and jumped into the taxi. The hotel proved to be 3 min away. The reception staff was nice and helpful, although had to wait pretty long for the menu and for my cheese plate when I decided to eat at the lobby bar. Also still remember a strange contrast - freshly renovated looking lobby full of light and surprisingly worn out room with old fashioned furniture. The room was clean though. The windows were facing busy road and I got worried that the room were going to be noisy, but it was absolutely quiet, so I finally slept well. Free wi-fi.
Would recommend for business travelers.

Having an early flight sort of forced me to grab a non-smoking airport hotel close by in Nice. Lovely service checking in.... staff are great. Got to room 201... smelled like an ashtray so back to the front desk with all my gear and wonderful staff apologized, very professional, quickly gave me a card for 608 which was a little larger by the way and very pleasant. If you ignore the large black stain in the carpet beside the bed. Now, maybe someone spilled ink there; maybe someone killed a squid and prepared a small snack; maybe a mafioso was executed.
When I called the front desk.. Marianna was so good, offered another room but I was getting tired and said it is not a big problem but I don't want to be charged for the obvious damage to the carpet. Marianna handled it well apologizing profusely. Slight problem later.... I checked regarding my 4AM wake up call which had been written down for room 201 and Surprise! it hadn't been changed to #608. Sure would have been choked if that oversight had made me miss the long flight back to Canada.
The pillows were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced but the room was comfortable, bathroom clean and wifi was just okay. Dinner was good service and bland food but okay price. Next time I will stay in Nice and spend the money on an early taxi.

Room Tip: Check for blood stains.... and cigarette smelly rooms...ugh.

Near to the airport but 15 mins drive away from the city. The hotel is located near to the main road which you lead you back from the city.

The soundproofing in the room is excellent. Can't hear any aircraft noise at all.

The room look dated. Something which I did not expect after seeing the lobby.

Good functional airport hotel with no nasty surprises. You can arrive by shuttle bus (navette) from the airport, staff are multi-lingual and helpful and check-in and out very efficient. Rooms spacious and comfortable with fridge and tea/coffee facilities, ample hanging space etc. My only minor complaints would be the sealed environment is a bit overheated and you can't open the window and there's no English language channel on the TV, otherwise it's all good. I booked a rate that included breakfast and was glad I had, it's a well-stocked though unexciting international style buffet with limitless tea / coffee / juice etc. and there's nowhere else to go locally.
The location is not only handy for the airport (5 mins) but also for Gare Saint Augustin, from where you can take the train to anywhere on the Cote d'Azur (it's an unmanned station though, so you'll need to be able to cope with the ticket machine) and also local buses to the big Cap 3000 mall at Saint Laurent du Var (2 stops, 1 Euro) and central Nice.
I probably wouldn't want to stay here more than a couple of nights just because there are so many other offerings with better views etc. locally but as an airport hotel it functions just fine and I'd use it again.
