Having stayed at 3 Marriott hotels in the past 12 months, we felt that the AC Marriott Nice did not meet the expectation that we expected from this chain.
we arrived around 11am on Sunday morning and checked in, our room was not available which was understandable as it was early, but we were immediately asked if we were members, to which we stated "no" then we were told that wifi is 12 euro per day to which we were slightly taken aback as i don't think we have ever had to pay for basic wifi in our room,
when we returned around 4 pm we were able to check in properly and the front desk approach was very different and we were offered free wifi in our room (after querying the charge).
our room was a deluxe room with partial sea view on the 7th floor, the room was very well appointed and comfortable, although the hospitality tray had no milk and one tea bag, so we had to ask at reception for additional milk and tea bags
TV had quite bad reception and some channels were unwatchable.
Marriott hotels seem to all have opaque bathroom doors that do not lock so this isn't exclusive to the AC Marriott Nice, but it is something that is not ideal to persons that like a bit of privacy.
the Gym is non existent, nice photos on the website but 5 dumbells (most are missing) and a very loose weight bench that could be dangerous if used, 2 bikes and a running machine make this a very poor excuse,
Breakfast is average, service was a bit hit and miss as some items were not replenished immediately
roof terrace was open on the monday and we had a few drinks up there, this was very nice and service was good.
overall the hotel is nice but let down by a few items, a couple of which is why we booked this hotel , because of this it would make me think twice about booking another Marriott in the future.
