Served personally by owner Michelle & her husband, Eric, our experience at Le Vingt4 was by far the best during our recent trip to France. Michelle reviewed the menu with us, which suggests carefully chosen wines with each selection, and offered pouring any wine to taste prior to ordering it.
Starting with the St Veran Chardonnay, we were given a chefs tasting of toasted baguette with a creamy cheese that was delicious - my husband doesn't eat cheese and he even said it was good! Our starter was the Dried Ham from Jabugo Iberico - this was phenomenal! Eric regaled us with the story of the Black Iberian pigs life, who receives a collar and roams freely it's last several weeks of life, feeding on acorns and grasses in order to develop the proper fat. This ham is then cured for 3 years! What a delicious treat!
Our mains were the Black Angus Rib Eye and the Pluma Iberian Pig - both were melt in your mouth tender and utterly divine. The cream in Michelle's potato gratin was so fresh I swore I could taste the farm!
Dessert was creamy flan served in a jar with macerated strawberries - delicious!
Eric took our photo & added it to his wall of fame and served us some vintage champagne to top off the evening.
Wish I could go back tonight - thanks for a fabulous evening!
