Neither TripAdvisor nor Fodor’s saved us from out-of-season eating blues. Many recommended restaurants were either closed or full, both of which we established upon arrival (why didn’t I telephone ahead?). Making a point of avoiding tourist traps (of which there are many, especially in the old town) and eventually after a great deal of walking, we landed at G-Squared which restored my faith in mankind or at least French-kind.
Located off Garibaldi square this small, new restaurant is fashionably decorated and well served by attentive employees. This is a local pink hangout, which always helps.
I had flambé veal kidneys and my partner (female), cod. Both meals where nicely served, well presented and good! The vegetables and fries (extra cost) were unusually tasty ( OK I know that fries are always tasty).
The local Provence Bandol red wine was delicious.
This was followed with chocolate pudding and ice cream, which never disappoints.
A great meal and a great surprise, enjoy.
