“A quiet oasis”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This was a small hotel of character well positioned for the sea, Old Town and station.

The staff were courteous, the bedroom and small shower room were clean; there was free WiFi. I did not have time to use the spa facilities as the weather was perfect for walking in bright sky-blue winter conditions. The jungle garden was quiet and immaculate with an outdoor unheated pool, so ideal to put up my feet once I had finished pounding the streets for sights.

Had great time at the Opera, the opening of Carnival and visiting the Chagall Museum and wonderful Nicoise restaurants.
The hotel had excellent breakfast and dinner facilities: the fire was lit over dinner, which made it very cosy.

The art work was interesting and I particularly liked the " rocket launch" commentary in the lift!

Room Tip: My room was quiet even though it was on the first floor and looked over a busy street. I presume th...

A well-located, smallish hotel 200 metres back from the seafront. 'Themed' as an art hotel - not always a success, and might get on some people's nerves. We were shown a room covered in lurid graffiti - opted instead for one with a naive whole-wall painting of jungle with naked lady.
Washbasin (in-room) dernier cri in design but it was difficult to turn the taps - typical of the hotel. The lift loudspeaker does a rocket launch routine - amusing once, therefter less and less so. No 'do not disturb' sign in room, internal barring didn't work, and maid walzed in without knocking at 8.10 am.
All that said, a clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. Staff were helpful and polite. And the dinner was really excellent. The dining room is not very atmospheric (this was indoors, in winter), but the food carefully-presented and full of flavour. Try the mezzaluna pasta with white truffle sauce - aromatic and flavourful, the equal of dishes we have had in much grander establishments.
For the price and location, a pretty good bet for a visit to Nice.

Room Tip: They showed us two rooms - worth asking to see more than one as some are a bit quirky!

I few blocks up from the water in a very pretty area the streets around the hotel are maintained beautifully. The hotel has a largish lobby, a small bar/breakfast area and friendly helpful staff. The room we had was a good size double with the window overlooking the street, the bathroom was small but clean. What we really loved about this hotel was the garden / restaurant it’s just the perfect setting to unwind in the evening (or anytime for that matter) with a drink from the bar or a meal from the restaurant. Lots of greenery, bird cages, funky furniture…… such a relaxing place. They’d had storms the night before we arrived so all internet and Wi-Fi was out the 3 days we stayed but through no fault of the hotel so still top marks on this wonderful little hotel in this pretty little city.

Room Tip: Take the stairs to your room - Tin Tin lives!

Nice little hotel with a very friendly staff!
And a morning coffee... you never had anything like it! :)

About 300 meters to the beach.
About 10-15minutes walk to the train station.

Enjoy the area - we went to Eze (really worth to see the old town on Eze at the top of the mountains with an exceptional views to the bay full of luxury boats), Monaco, Canes...
It was an enjoyable and relaxing trip.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast in the garden is very nice. It certainly beats most hotel breakfast rooms. The pool area is small but perfect for a refreshing dive after a visit to the city centre or the beach, which are both at walking distance. If you're looking for a romantic stay in Nice, I'd certainly recommend the Windsor.

Central hotel, very basic and certainly not class as boutique compared to others stayed in on our travels. Perhaps it was the exotic garden that was boutique with pool. Expecting more than very basic white walls, with a few yellow words painted on them and furniture etc very bland. Bed most uncomfortable soft and saggy.Towel rail hanging off wall next to washbasin. Maid was very good and attended to our room very well each day. Staff not particularly friendly on arrival and even had to take our own cases up to our room. Lift different with space ship lift off sound. We opted to have New Years Eve Dinner which was excellent and congratulations to the Chef, who must have put a lot of work into it, but the room lacked atmosphere left before midnight as did most of the others and given our hats and other bits upon leaving. Would recommend the food.

Room Tip: Perhaps need to upgrade to get a boutique room!!!

Dear guest,

I am glad that you have appreciated our restaurant and we thank you very much for the good comment about your meal. It seems that artist room is not your taste. Indeed, most of them are rather minimalist style, even everything needed should be there. I guess you would have preferred a room with frescoe which are more cosy and romantic. Don't hesitate to ask for this kind of decoration next time you come in our hotel.

Best regards,

Odile Payen

As a travel agent, I am particular about where we stay. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was large and had amazing views. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Our dinner was one of the best meals we had in France. The scallops, prawns and truffle ravioli were amazing. Parking is scarce at the hotel if you are bringing a car. The hotel is walking distance to the train station and close to shops and restaurants. I recommend this place if you are needing relaxation in this busy city.

Room Tip: Upgrade your room to a garden view.
