“Lovely, peaceful stay in Nice”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

My mom and I recently stayed in Le Petit Palais for 3 nights in June. It was a lovely hotel. All of the staff was helpful and very nice. The rooms and bathrooms were large and clean and we had the added bonus of a patio overlooking their beautiful garden. It was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. The hotel is a bit of a walk (about 20 minutes) from the old part of Nice, downhill on the way there, uphill on the way back, but it is in a lovely neighborhood.

Room Tip: Some of the first floor rooms have a nice patio

We stayed for 10 nights in July 2014 . We chose the hotel based on the reviews and the location . It was absolutely fabulous . The quality of sleeps were excellent as the hotel is 15 minutes on foot outside the old town and in a quiet residential area .
The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble . The owner is Christine who oozes elegance and beauty , and she treats you like her own family .
The room was sumptuously French , with a little private patio where we chose to take breakfast each day .
The staff were very friendly and thoroughly professional . We would thoroughly recommend this hotel , as long as you dont mind the short walk home at night . Fabulous .

Room Tip: Ground floor means a delicious little private patio , 1st and second floor will give you a sea view...

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely hotel in Nice which overlooks the city and the Mediterranean. Our room had a balcony, so we enjoyed the breathtaking views of Nice and the ocean beyond. Phillipe, the manager, and the entire staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel in addition to breakfast, which is not included in the price of the hotel, offers early evening "light fare" which we took advantage of the first night when we didn't feel like walking to dinner.

The hotel's location affords incredible views and the area is extremely quiet as it is situated in a residential community. The Chagall Museum (do not miss) is within walking distance from the hotel and the Matisse Museum as well as his tomb are within easy access by bus.

The only downside to the hotel is that it's a ten-minute walk uphill from the shops and restaurants if you do not have a car. We did not have a car and would walk down and back every day.

Great place--we'll definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room with a balcony

Stayed 2 nights in July 2014, friends also stayed at the same time. We booked a room with a view (see photo) and weren't disappointed with the vista. Room average size by European standards, very quiet, and with the shutters down, extremely dark, so perfect for a good night's sleep. Buffet breakfast quite good and by hotel standards reasonably priced. There's no restaurant as such.

The hotel is a solid 10 minutes' walk up the hill from the main town area, so it's pretty easy to walk to Vieux Nice, the beach and the Centre. It's not far from the Matisse and Chagall museums, though they are further up the hill in Cimiez. It's a quiet residential part of town.

We found the staff anything but rude. I'm surprised at the comments to this extent. Didn't notice them being rude to other guests either. They made recommendations on the map about where to stroll and find things.

I would definitely stay here again, as a couple or group but if I were travelling alone, I might consider one of the hotels closer to the beach.

We stayed in the Hotel as it was a ten minute walk to the Convention Centre. We loved the Hotel, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the facilities absolutely adequate, free wifi, really good breakfast. The Hotel is in a very good area, but requires quite a strenuous walk from Town if one does not hire a car. It was very peaceful, and away from the noisy Town Centre. We would certainly recommend it to Mature Couples who are active, and would love to stay again sometime.

Room Tip: We had a view over the City, with a small balcony. Lovely.

Let me start saying that my room was very very old, the carpet looked from the age Before Christ, very ugly and dusty. The night table all banged up and in very bad shape. The pool is so little its ridiculous. The shower in my room is pretty much imposible fit, and im a very slim person. It is a definitely very overpriced hotel with a very bad location! The worst of all was the staff, RUDE from the beginning till the end, even if it was the most beautiful hotel in Nice I wouldn't come back only because of the attitude of the staff. I had reserved a room with a view supposedly, my view was another hotel, nice...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel itself, including the breakfast were superb. One massive issue was the total lack of soundproofing in our middle floor room. We could here every grunt and groan of our next door couple into the small hours. Also, the couple on the other side could be heard talking as though they were in the room with us. Every night until around 2am and if they even opened the cupboard to hang some clothing, it sounded like they were breaking through the wall!!
We asked the older lady on reception for some earplugs (as advertised in their room service brochure in the room) and were met with a disgusted look and told they don't have any. Made us feel like kids being told off.
Great hotel, shame we came away needing another break to recover.
