“Needs soundproofing”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

We've just spent 6 nights at this hotel. Very pleasant in every respect except for the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. The other guests were not especially noisy but we were able to hear their conversations and TVs through the thin walls which made getting to sleep difficult. The staff were extremely helpful but it's not ideal having to ask for quiet (especially since the other guests were chatting or watching TV at normal levels). This is our reason for giving this hotel an 'Average' rating.

However, if you are not particularly sensitive to noise, we would recommend this hotel for its lovely setting (quiet, residential neighbourhood but only a short walk down the hill to the town centre); for the fabulous view over Nice; for the very welcoming and helpful staff; for the clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms; for the good breakfasts (especially the hot chocolate and excellent, fresh, crusty bread).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over Nice. Note comments above about internal noise.

We got the name of this hotel from an in-law who travels frequently to Nice.
The cab driver didn't know how to get there but once you find it, it is worth it.
It is a small hotel. The staff was very nice. On one review there is a comment of no english. I didn't find this. They were very pleasant in both french and english. helpful about where to go.
It is very close to the Marc Chagall museum. It is a 20 minute walk to the central train station ( a good way to get to monaco for 4 euro).
to get down to the main part of old city, you walk down a hill. Might be an issue if you are debilitated, but if you are active, it is a pleasant walk.
reasonably priced, comfortable beds. nice bathroom.
i'll be back.

Spent NYE in Nice, Loved to stay there, very friendly owners and incredible views and location made the stay a pleasure even though the room was a bit small and not insonorised.

DID NOT LIKE:

-Tv was not working properly
-No insonorization in the rooms so i could hear the "neighbours"
-For the price, the (Beautiful) sea /town view room was too small.

LIKED:

-Everything Else

My family and I enjoyed a brief stay at thisHotel in December. The only negative was that we couldn't spend longer at this wonderful hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The hotel is located on the hillside above Nice so you are away from the hustle of the city but only a short walk to the centre of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a special visit.

Room Tip: We had a lower floor room which I suspect are the "not the best" rooms but they were stil...

This is an amazing hotel. The staff could not have been better, the room was perfect, the location was quiet yet near everything........All pros, no cons. I cannot think of one thing that they could have improved on, OK one, they could have served their wonderful scrambled eggs more often.

I was in this hotel for 12 days, I enjoyed everyday there, and would definitely stay there again. Thanks to Patrick and everyone else on staff there.

Room Tip: I liked the corner room on the -1, it was quiet...I loved the patio.

The hotel staff welcomed us, and we were fortunate to occupy our room at noon, since it was ready (other guests were leaving luggage until their room was ready). Although not spacious, the room served our needs for two days of relaxed tourism and time zone recovery before boarding a cruise ship. The bed was extremely comfortable, not always a given in boutique hotels. The location is within walking distance of the main sights of Nice, although the walk is much easier downhill from the hotel--you may want to take a taxi back up the hill. It is very close to the Chagall Museum, which we found delightful and easy to navigate at a leisurely pace. Compared to other parts of Nice, the hotel is in a very quiet residential district, good for sleeping early or late. The breakfast (at a cost of 16 Euro per person) featured very high quality ingredients and looked out on a beautiful garden (in warm weather, you can eat outside). Unless you want an active nightlife, this is a comfortable place to stay at a competitive price.

My husband and I just returned from five days and four nights at this lovely little pearl of a hotel. Tastefully decorated, luxurious, simple and elegant best describe this find. The entire staff is very warm and friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the maid service impeccable. The staff speak English and graciously tolerated my French. ;-) They even have room service if you just can't bring yourself to leave your room. My husband and I have been married sixteen years, but we kept looking at one another and saying, "this is the best honeymoon we ever had!" The views over Nice and the Baie des Anges was breathtaking morning, noon and night -- even (maybe especially!) in the rain. It's tucked away up a little hill and away from the madding crowd, but close enough you can be in the thick of things in a few minutes. A small note for those who don't like walking: the little hill may be something you'd rather not do. Other than that, I can't think of a better place on earth to be. We'll be back!

Room Tip: I'm sure all rooms are good, but a corner room affords the best views, of course. It's a ver...
