“Renewing acquaintance with French Riviera”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

It is many years since I last visited the French Riviera so it was a joy to renew my acquaintance with this delightful region and in particular with old favourites Cannes, Nice, Antibes, Monaco and Menton. Sure, there were changes but they were just as entrancing as I remembered them. In spite of the financial restraints which are sweeping the continent, there was still a buzz about these places - indeed an air of affluence. The ladies were as elegant as ever, the men had adopted the tie-less semblance which is now the common vogue everywhere, the pavement cafe-culture was just as inviting, but the traffic was faster and much more dominant than previously. The weather can be capricious but by and large, one is assured of a sun tan whenever one chooses to visit..
To anyone who has not already experienced these delights, I urge you not to delay for too long; you're missing out!.

“We had a great experience on the French Riviera with Ingrid Schmucker of Kultours.fr”
Reviewed September 7, 2011

My wife and I took a cruise around Western Europe in late August and early September of 2011, beginning in Southampton and ending in Monte Carlo. We decided to take advantage of the ship (Regent Seven Seas Voyager) landing in Mone Carlo to spend a couple of days on the French Riviera. We booked a tour with Ingrid Schmucker of Kultours.fr and she picked us up with her van in Monte Carlo at 8 am, just as we were disembarking. We started with a drive around Monaco and the French Corniche. It was the area filmed in Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. The scenery was truly awe-inspiring with sheer cliffs, beautiful blue ocean and buildings with great classical architecture hanging on the side of the cliffs. At 10:00 am, the palace opened and we took a tour. It was well worthwhile seeing the palace and also the cathedral where Grace Kelly is buried.

Afterwards, we drove around more. We visited the old city of Eze with its narrow streets and medieval houses. We had a great lunch at the five-star hotel Le Chevre D'Or and ate outside on the terrace, so we could appreciate the view.

We finished up in Nice and Cannes, both great cities.

Our tour guide Ingrid Schmucker was great. She's lived on the French Riviera for over 15 years and she knows the area and its history quite well. She also seems to know eveyone around the area including the police in Eze. She was great guide and I recommend her highly. She has a warm personality and did a great job of showing us around. I learned a lot about the history of the area, as well as which sites to see.
