Not sure what more I can add given previous reviews but we had a triple room (that was all that were left) for approx £80 per night. It was huge, had a lovely balcony with good views of the mountain. It was room 501 closest to the lift, quiet and comfortable; just perfect. The hotel was fully booked for the whole weekend that we were there but it didnt feel at all crowded. We saw a few french people were staying too, so we felt in the "know" as it were. Loved the Supermarche, which we walked past every morning on our way to the tram stop, which was also great for stocking up before you head back to the airport!
Getting to and from the Airport: Pretty much pain free and cheap. We got the last 98 bus (leaves at 00h00), from the closest stand to the exit (No.1 I think?). Bought a ticket on the bus as the ticket office was closed. The € 4.00-ticket you buy on the bus is a one day ticket, which you can also use for the tramway.
Got off at the "Bus station" stop, we asked the driver to let us know which stop to get off, to get a tram and he was lovely enough to do this. Literally just crossed the road to the tram stop, its well signedposted. The tram only goes in two directions you want the direction of “Pont Michel”. You get off at the tram stop called “Virgile Barel”. Cross over the road to the other platform and then if you face the direction the tram was going you want to take the first left hand turn off that road (there should be a shop on your side of the road and a pharmacy across the road. Walk straight for 2 minutes’ (crossing over 1 road) when you get to the end there is a roundabout and a petrol station, turn left and you are at the hotel. Voila!
pros: Really large light and airy triple room, large bathroom, good safe, free wifi, air con was good, balcony with an excellent view considering it's location. My special request on my booking with "Booking.com" was taken into account by the hotel. I emailed ahead of our stay for directions and I got immediate responses to all my questions. Staff are really helpful. You can choose whether you have the breakfast at 8 Euros, we chose not as we wanted to try the many boulangeries so we were glad this was not built into the room price and optional.
Very Minor niggles: No shower curtain/divide however the bathroom is quite large so its not a huge problem, the floor by the sink will remain dry. We had a late flight and they dont have a dedicated area you can shower/ freshen up after you have checked out and I guess as it was full there were no rooms to spare. However the receptionist was lovely and let us use what must have been the staff shower room so it worked out for us. There are also no computers available but again when I really needed one the receptionist let me use the reception computer so it just shows how much the staff really make this place!!
Would definitely stay here again unless I'm feeling super plush and can afford one of the fancy and very expensive hotels on the beach front!
