Enjoyed a late beer and tasty pizza here last Wed night at about 11pm with my daughter. However, found the staff to be very casual in manner and highly questionable in terms of honesty when I discovered that I had left my mobile phone there and returned within 10 minutes of leaving to request if it had been found.
On re-appearing at the restaurant, the waiter who had dealt with our bill immediately approached me, and very quickly and loudly assured me that "there was no phone, no phone. Good night ladies". He appeared keen to get us to leave which we did. However, we returned within minutes because I was absolutely sure that I had left my new Samsung Galaxy 4 there.
This time, the same waiter assured us that no phone had been found but a diner overheard me and asked for my number so he could ring my phone. As I was calling him out the number, almost immediately another waiter emerged from the interior of the restaurant holding up my phone. Obviously I was delighted but also dismayed at the first waiter, and suspicious that an attempt to steal the handset had been made. This was reinforced to me by the fact that I found the handset had been switched off.
Perhaps the whole incident was innocent and just unfortunate. But the fact that the first waiter had been so quick to assure us that no phone had been found and was totally unapologetic for his careless attitude when the handset was discovered by another member of staff made us feel uneasy and loathe to return, A note of caution to others - my advice would be to continue across the bridge and turn right to visit the Barge Bleu overlooking the Port. Lovely staff, tasty food, low prices.
