lovely quirky place with great design touches whilst being spotlessly clean. Staff all very helpful, from the reception staff to the lady, I think from house keeping, who brought us breakfast in bed and wished me happy birthday. Location is good and it's a short walk to plenty of restaurants, shops and the beach.

I stayed here for two nights over the New Years holiday and enjoyed my time. It was walking distance from everywhere I wanted to go - shops, restaurants, Castle Hill, the beach, and the train station. I found the staff helpful and enjoyable to talk to.

I'm assuming the sub-par reviews are from prior to the renovations? This place looks brand new and posh now. It had the newest and sleekest looking decor I saw while traveling in France.

Overall I found it to be a very good value for the price and would stay here again.

In our last few trips to Nice we had stayed at the Beau Rivage hotel but despite it being wonderful there was an increasing problem with noise so we agreed to look for another hotel in Nice and having decided to stay at the Hotel Villa Victor Hugo were not disappointed. The hotel is well located in a good neighbourhood within an easy walk to the beach, shops and all other amenities. The hotel is stylish, the staff are friendly, our room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, great shower, free wi-fi and it was quiet so we had an undisturbed night's sleep - parfait!
The hotel is relatively good value for money for an hotel of this quality in Nice and we will definitely stay here again.

Value for money this hotel is fabulous! It has recently been redone and is truly beautiful. The amenities and room decor were very comfortable. Everything was clean and pristine. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They helped with everything from baggage storage to a night cap to restaurant recommendations.

As we were visiting during the off-season, the staff upgraded us to a gorgeous executive room with a balcony. So thoughtful and really made our stay!

The location is great! We were only a 5 minute walk from the Congres Promenade bus stop (#98) from the airport. Easily able to walk to the beach, the old town, shopping on Jean Medcin, and located just around the corner from Luc Salsedo and Le Sejour Cafe.

.......just three blocks or so behind the Casino on the Esplanade des Anglais, the hotel is very convenient for the sea front, shops and restaurants. Nice modern interior, friendly helpful staff who all speak English. Standard bedrooms are a little small but well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great value for money.

The breakfast room looked delightful but sadly we had to leave at 0730 when serving commenced.

This place is a good base for exploring Nice and beyond. It is close to the seafront and the train station meaning access to transport and the region is only 5-10 minutes in either direction. The room was great, clean and fresh with plenty of storage, good beds and a large bathroom considering the relative price in Nice. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Perhaps the only thing missing was in room tea/coffee facilities but with shops/cafes all around it was not really a hardship.A great find all round!

Room Tip: If you get a room directly overlooking the Rue de Victor Hugo be warned it is a busy road so can be...

On arriving at the hotel we were told that our room wasn't ready as we were early. The hotel's check in time was an our later than Expedia had told us. Not a big deal, we sat in the pleasant reception area until it was ready. We weren't offered a drink from the bar and the member of staff on reception didn't engage at all with us. Our room was lovely, very spacious and airy with full length windows looking out onto a church. The bathroom was shiny and new and the shower was a pleasure to use. Location wise we thought it was perfect, not even a 5 minute walk to a Main Street with many shops and restaurants and about a 15 minute walk to the old town. We didn't bother with breakfast at the hotel as the breakfast room was a windowless room in the basement which we didn't fancy. Instead we nipped around the corner to a lovely little boulangerie and sat outside enjoying the autumn sunshine - parfait!
