Residence Nice Fleurs
Ranked #171 of 203 Hotels in Nice
Reviewed January 10, 2010

We stayed at the Nice Fleurs 2nd to 9th Jan 2010 and found the studio apartment clean and comfortable but what set this apart from hotels we had used in previous years was the helpfulness of the reception staff. From the morning we arrived nothing was too much trouble. I will use this residence for all future trips, it is reasonably priced, central, has good car parking facilities and the staff are exceptional.

No breakfast included, parking is extra, front desk is only manned from 7am to 10pm. The lights go off automatically in the hallways, so you are forever stumbling around in the dark trying to find a light switch. You only get enough hot water for one shower, then have to wait TWO HOURS for more hot water. Sheets/blankets were ripped, the fold-out bed was broken, the dishwasher was broken (that said, there was a TINY stove and fridge).
The upside? It was the cheapest hotel I could find in Nice with a private bathroom. Seems the French are fond of shared bathrooms.....

In October -November 2009 we spent two weeks at the famous resort in and around Nice. The hotel is located in a very good place in the centre of the city. It is necessary only 10-15 minutes by walk to come to the famous Promenade and stops of many buses which go to different directions. So we may in a short time be delivered to the airport, cities of Monaco, Cann and a lot of museums.
The hotel itself has all what people need to feel comfortable. We enjoyed and used the small kitchen in our dining room. SPECIALLY WE WANT TO SEND OUR GREATEST
THANKFULLNESS to hotel manager MICHECA for very special attention to all our needs. Valentina and Moris, USA

We didn't stay long here so this can't be a great review.

We were only staying one night, due to a late flight and having to locate the place in a back-street of the central part of the city, we didn't arrive until after 11.30pm and I think that the reception shuts at 10pm. Anyway, there is a telephone number to call posted up on the locked front door and an English speaking person answers the phone and there is no problem with them confirming our reservation and then directing us to type in a security code to get in the door and then locate our room key by reception in a safe deposit box.

The room had a sofa-bed only but it was comfortable. There was no air conditioning but there was a floor-standing fan. There was a kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet.

Wish I could have stayed in Nice and in this hotel longer, but we had to rush on. If I didn't need somewhere more luxurious then I would stay here again and I probably will.

This hotel was terrible in every way. The weather was very hot--there is no air conditioning and no fans--we were sweltering. We left the windows open, but it was so noisy that it was hard to sleep. It was not safe to leave the windows open if you left the room as someone could easily get into them. The hallways and the room were' very dirty and disgusting. None of the furniture matched and it looked all worn out. The walls were dirty and battered. There was a closet for garbage just outside our room, so we also had a horrible smell coming from it. I wouldn't have thought about using the kitchenette in our room. there is no parking, and the neighborhood nearby has busy streets with very few available spots. We had made reservations at this place through Expedia because the room would accomodate our family of four which is difficult to find in Europe, but we would have been better off just getting two rooms elsewhere. The price was not exactly cheap either.

We rented a studio apartment one night in July. The location was OK, not perfect, but still walking distance to the beach, the station and the center. The apartment, however, was in very bad shape. It seemed it had survived people partying heavily, with not only stains, but very worn out furniture and kitchen. The floor plan and lighting was extremly uncomfortable and uncosy, there was mould in the bathroom etc. I would definitely never stay there again.

Nice Fleurs is perfectly located for all the local amenities, the nearest supermarket is about 2 minutes away on Rue de Gambetta (the supermarket is called Casino). The beach is also really close and the other tourist spots of Nice are around 20 minute walk or a short bus journey. City taxes were not included in the price we paid but were not much at 90 cents per person per day.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, giving directions and recommending places to go. I found that our room was fairly clean although a couple of the dishes in the cupboard were not. A maid service is only provided if you stay more than 7 days or if you pay extra upon arrival, for a studio is was 11 euro per day for cleaning and more for the bigger rooms.

The hotel is located on a busy road and the room has no air conditioning. I found that i slept badly as i would either have to sleep with the window closed and be too hot or the window open and be continuosly be woken up by mopeds. It may be quieter in the rooms at the side or back. At the back of the hotel there is a lovely court yard with chairs and tables.

The hotel offers breakfast at 8 euro per day which consists of tea, coffee, juice, croissant, pain au chocolat and bread with jam. There are several bakeries in the area though and you could russel this up yourself for less (if you can bothered)

The furniture and decor in the rooms really needs updating and did remind me a bit f a travelodge (with a kitchen) However if you're looking for Nice on a budget this is the hotel for. Think of it more as a short term residence in an apartment that you're renting, not recommended if you are expecting a 3* hotel.
