Firstly the location just a few blocks from the waterfront is great. The rooms are clean and our room at the end of the building was large and spacious, fit out was like a modern business hotel, a bit sterile, rather than the style of a boutique hotel.

The hotel is fine, but not what they describe, and that's the problem. This is not a boutique hotel and if not described would be fine, I am at a loss as to the Four Stars by the front door. The hotel 'restaurant' is only open for a european breakfast, so not a restaurant, and there is no room service. There is a restaurant next door (not owned or operated by the hotel) but it was open erratically for lunch and dinner. The bar downstairs is part of the foyer and while well presented, no one is ever present. And while there are plenty of reception staff about, no one to help with luggage (stairs from the foyer to ground floor). The staff are polite but unable to follow up on the most basic of things - we stayed for 6 nights, and raised the issue of hot water running out during the day early in our stay, nothing was resolved. One staff member was fantastic (Daniel I think his name was) and was very helpful organising tours and transfers etc and recommending restaurants.

Other little details like Bottle Water and Toiletries not always being replenished daily, let them down. Had to chase them for toilet paper one day.

End of the day, the hotel and it facilities are straightforward and SIMPLE and as such are fine, but definitely not how they describe the property, which makes the price high for what facilities are actually available.

Not like the other Malmaison properties we've stayed at over the years.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the time you have taken to comment on your stay at Hotel La Malmaison Nice.

Firstly we feel it very important to point out that there are no other 'Hotel La Malmaison' properties and that we are not part of the Malmaison hotels in the UK, which are members of the Frasers Hospitality Group. Secondly, as a French hotel our star rating corresponds to a required minimum standard of products and services that must be available to guests and is regulated by a national authority. We can assure you that our hotel does meet these standards as well as the description of boutique hotel.

We are very sorry that you felt we did not meet the standards of service you expected from us and for that I would like to apologise. Our team members are available 24 hours and are always ready to assist to ensure your comfort at all times. They would have been more than happy to help out with your luggage upon request.

Although we do not have a restaurant as you rightly mention, we do have 24/h room service. The menus are in the room, on our application Loung app (free of charge for our clients with the option to order via the application) and at the reception.

The restaurant next door is independent of our hotel and therefore regrettably do not have any control over their opening hours.

Our reception team can always help out with suggestions for other restaurants nearby and can make reservations if required. The bar drinks are also served by the receptionist who can be reached 24 h by simple dialling "9". As we have already mentioned they are always available for any items you may have need of in your room and we are very sorry for our oversight.
We like to offer complimentary water for our guests upon their arrival

Finally, we regret the issue with the hot water one evening during your stay and are glad to report that our maintenance team were able to solve it that same evening and fortunately no more incidents were reported.

All of the team hope that we have the pleasure of seeing you on future occasions.

My kindest regards,
Sanna, General Manager

Don’t waste your time. No concierge to help with your luggage up the steps and we’re talking STEPS! That’s even before you get to the reception area. The reception area is definitely not covered 24-7! No one around when we around had to wait 20 mins! Rooms are TINY - we booked a triple room... tiny! Nothing special about the rooms at all to make it a ‘Boutique’ hotel. And, way overpriced for what you get. Loads of other choices of hotels in Nice - can definitely kick ourselves for booking this.

Dear Guest,

I am very sorry to read that we completely failed to give the experience we would like to offer to all our guests. And I regret the inconveniences caused by the steps in our entrance (10 steps). The whole reception staff has order to help clients but I understand that this was not the case for you.

I confirm that the Hotel is staffed 24h/24h, it is indeed not normal if you had to wait 20 minutes, I will investigate what happened. COncerning the triple rooms with 3 real beds they are all between 24 and 29m², sorry that it did not suit you.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss the issues further if you wish (s.gehkre@lamalmaisonnice.com)

Do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to give us an second change.

Best wishes,

We loved our hotel mostly for where it was situated. Not far from the beach, public transport, restaurants and supermarkets. All of the staff members were extremely polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was ‘cosy’ for 3 women. However, a positive was that we appreciated the long length mirror! Our room was clean and comfortable! Ideal hotel if you’re looking at a nice area to stay in and somewhere that’s clean!

We would like to thank Malmaison and their curteous staff for our recent stay. I have many allergies and health conditions to mind, and they were super accomodating to make sure that I was comfortable in the room and that everything was to standard. The view of treelined Victor Hugo was absolutely beautiful and in a quiet and clean residential part of Nice, just blocks from the beach. The staff was happy to help us with directions and printed bus and transfer timetables for us. The manager was a lovely woman, and warm to my mother and I, always with a smile and making sure we were ok. We did not make it to breakfast as we needed sleep, but we would definitely stay again! Solid choice.

We love Malmaison hotels and were not disspoonted with La Malmaison, Nice. Great spot, just a short walk from the Promenade and all the shops and easily to navigate to from the main transport hubs. The style, cleanliness and breakfast made our stay very pleasant indeed. In fact the breakfast was brilliant, not too many options but all food and drinks of a very high standard. It was quiet and a relaxed atmosphere and we would definitely stay there again! Finally, the receptionist with the brown hair who helped us with additional (very helpful) information as we were checking out was lovely. Made us leave on a very positive note!
