We, a family with one 11-year-old boy, stayed at Hotel Nice Riviera for 6 days, and I must say, it was a very pleasant stay. Our room, although facing the inner (and not beautiful) court, was quiet and very clean, and it looks the interior has just been refurbushed, so it was not gloomy, as some previous reviewers pointed out. The swimming pool, just next to the entrance hall (you could smell chlorine at the reception), is very good, although bit small, and my son really like it and swam there almost every night. What is excellent about this hotel is the location: close to the tram stop and within walking distance to the SNCF station or bus terminal. Nice is a beautiful town, so much to see. You can also take bus to Cannes/Antibes/Monaco for 1 euro from the bus terminal. Overall, nice hotel, superb location.

We only stayed in this hotel for one night but found it great value for money, The rooms were very spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom and great shower. The swimming pool and sauna were a nice way to relax after a day of sight seeing. The location of the hotel was perfect, about 15 minutes from the bus station and 20 minutes from the train station. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Nice for 5 nights from late December to spend New Year's in Nice. I would say 5 nights is a long time to spend in Nice when the weather's not hot--though with the hotel's pool it made it feel like a real holiday and gave us something to do on New Year's Eve (not much open) and Sundays (almost no shops open). There was also a jacuzzi--which could have been a bit warmer--and a small sauna.

The room was clean and had a temperature control panel, and staff we're friendly, spoke good English and recommended nice restaurants. Even though I wouldn't consider the hotel 4-star as they claim (more like 3-star), I really appreciate the special touches from the hotel, including leaving sweets and chocolates in the reception area throughout the day and even on New Year's Eve we were surprised to come back to a complementary bottle of champagne and chocolates!

This is the perfect hotel to book for location in the high season, and in the low season I would say that the pool and sauna facilities are a definite plus.

Great location! Nice service! Heated pool, perfect for relaxation after a long sightseeing day. Close to everything, place de massena, old town, train station, galleries lafayette...
Turndowns: no bathrobe to disposition in our room, it should have been a must in a 4* hotel with a pool! And, we are charged extra for breakfast in our room, though it was written in the hotel brochure that it was free of charge. We spent Christmas there, and they served a beautiful brunch on 25th, with champagne and everything, though with extra charge. Friendly staff, we'll be coming back here. :-)

We have just returned from a weekend break . Spent ages choosing this hotel, based on the reviews and photos of other travellers. The hotel is very conveniently located, close to shops, restaurants and the Promenade des Anglaises. Our superior room (on the second floor) was really disappointing. It was dark and dated, and faced the back of the hotel, with views of rust-stained walls. We were allocated another room across the corridor (better view onto the street, but quite noisy!)
The breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice - toast, French bread, fresh fruit, crossants, cakes, tomatoes, scrambed eggs and bacon, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices.
We had a lovely time in Nice, but felt that the hotel was overpriced for the standard of the room.

When you arrive at the hotel it does look rather dark and dated. However staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and quite spacious.
The location is perfect, so close to everything.

The buffet breakfast was not great at all. I would advise not to stay at the hotel for that. There are so many cafes near by that it is not necessary.

Stayed at the Nice Riviera for a weekend with a girlfriend. We thought from previous things we'd read that this hotel was aimed at the business community but it seemed pretty busy with tourists. We'd booked a supreme room, but as none as these have twin beds (they did offer to dowgrade us!), we made use of the sofa bed instead. This hotel is clean and the room that we had was really quiet which is always a bonus. It's centrally located for shopping, restaurants, stations etc and, as in previous reviews, the staff were very helpful even if the accuracy of what they told us was a bit hit and miss (the flea market is not open on a Sunday by the way). Happy hour was good too. Overall, a good, reasonably priced hotel in the middle of an expensive city. Wasn't over impressed with Nice itself though - slightly reminiscent of a faded British seaside town and the area towards the train station should be avoided at night.
