We found this hotel to be completely faultless in every way. The location is perfect - right on the beach but only 5 mins walk from the old town. Great views of the Azur sea! Staff are excellent - efficient, friendly and helpful. room was exceptionally clean. Bed was a superking size - firm but comfy and plenty of pillows. Nespresso machine in room and replenished pods. Excellent large walk-in shower. Overall v pleased. Would return.

This was our first visit to Nice and this was an excellent location.

Do not be put off by the unimpressive reception area which is small and not as expected for a large 4* chain hotel. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

We did not have a sea front facing room but the room was consequently very quiet. It had very effective, quiet air conditioning and was very comfortable. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of the usual of breads, pastries and cooked breakfast.

What makes the hotel a great choice is its location. It is in the middle of the promenade and you can cross the road to the beach and great sea views. The market and old town are about 5 minutes walk away and have great restaurants. The shopping area is approximately 10 minutes walk away and the railway station about 15-20 minutes away. There are regular trains to Cannes and Monaco.

One tip, the taxis are very expensive. A short 3 mile(ish) from the airport was €40! There is a regular bus service to and from the airport that stops just round the corner from the hotel and is €6 each.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: A room facing away from the seafront will be quieter.

You can't beat the location of this hotel.

It's situated right on Promenade des Anglais, meaning you have quick access to the beach, the old part of the city and can easily get to and from the airport by bus (which stops right out the front of the hotel) or taxi.

We opted for a "Superior Room with queen-size bed and balcony overlooking the garden" which meant we had a small balcony with partial sea views. This was a nice luxury, however the balcony isn't large enough to sit or loiter, although that wasn't an issue as not much time was spent in the room. We would not have gotten value out of the sea view rooms (which from glimpses obtained while walking the halls, makes it look like some beds face the ocean).

We were tossing-up between the Mercure and Le Meridien (which is above this hotel) because the latter has a pool. After going up to the roof of the Le Meridien for a drink, I was satisfied with our choice.

Checking-in and out of Mercure wasn't a problem - they only have a small desk but it is very efficient and always staffed. The lobby of Le Meridien was packed with business travellers and when we got to the roof, the pool was very small. I would definitely recommend splashing an extra few EUR for sun loungers at one of the private beaches like Plage Beau-Rivage right by the hotel.

The Mercure's rooms are modern and comfortable and perfectly suited to weekend travellers. If you are looking for old-French style or something luxurious, this probably isn't the hotel for you.

For a weekend break, it was perfect.

Nice hotel, well located (close to the beach, restaurants, touristic points), very good breakfast and free Internet connection. It is a bit far (eight blocks) from the train station, reachable with the Tramway (taxi is expensive). Good walking distance from several touristic attractions, safe.

Charming hotel in charming city. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Hotel is located is near to the main road but we didn't have any problems with noise. Contrariwise it is very near to the sea and to the city center as well. Room was huge and clean as well as was bathroom. We had nice view to the sea and promenade. What I need to highlight are breakfasts. They were just delicious. Receptionist was willing to help when we had problem with our card to the room. We've stayed in other hotels in Nice before but this one was the best.
