“Late summer vacation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

I and my fiancé stayed for 5 days in September 2012. It was something like a late summer vacation for us. And the place where we get engaged:)
The hotels location is perfect. The airport bus stopped just in front of it and we didn’t have to walk with all our luggage. You just have to walk across the street and you are on the famous Promenade des Anglais boulevard. It was great for late night walks after dinner. It's location is great as a starting point for any sightseeing tours to the nearest cities such as Antibes, Cannes and etc. The bus stop was just around the corner which was very convenient.
The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of products. Nice service also.
The room was bright and spacious, facing the patio which in fact was the only bad thing about it because we couldn’t open any window and that was kind of unpleasant. It would be nicer if the room was on a higher floor. We missed the sea front view also but we decided that the higher price was not worth it. But it was nice, clean and quiet.
By the way we didn’t know that there were 2 hotels at one building and we were kind of surprised when we arrived. Our hotels buffet was just above the other hotel’s restaurant with just a partial view to the boulevard and the sea.
It was nice that the hotel offers special prices at the beach in from of the hotel for its guests.
In summary I would recommend this hotel due to its perfect location, nice and friendly staff and good value.

Room Tip: Just be careful when choosing the room. If you choose garden view room higher floors are better.

Decent enough hotel, rooms are clean and up to the usual Mercure standard. Breakfast in the Hotel is acceptable, though nothing special. We used the place on a business trip and it was handy enough for central Nice, plus the seafront is close by. Internet access is the fastest I've used in any Hotel, which was a bonus.

My wife and I had decided to stay at this hotel for our 7D6N breakaway vacation at Southern France.

Excellent central location at Promenade des Anglais. Beautiful scenery along the beach with 5 minutes’ walk to Place Massena, Old Town or Avenue Jean Medecin and 10 minutes to Colline du Chateau. Nearest tram stations Masséna and Opéra - Vieille Ville are also nearby.

Travel from/to Nice Airport is convenient. Coach number 98 (€4) will bring you from the airport to Congres/from Gustave V Stop with every interval of 20 minutes. Mercure is only minute away from these stops.

Friendly front desk staff who are able to converse excellently in English. Our stay in the room was clean and of a good size, furnished with LCD TV, stable & quick wifi internet access, equipped with a safe, reasonable shower and toilet room’s size. However, hotel’s tooth brush, tooth paste and slippers are not provided and the room temperature was rather hot on the first 2 nights, which was resolved after day 2. Our room was facing the patio and garden and the windows to this are locked – so having some fresh air in is just not possible unless you had the balcony room, which they called ‘M privilege’.

We would recommend this hotel due to its location, cleanliness & very helpful and friendly front desk staff.

We chose this hotel as we were visiting Nice during the carnival. The location was excellent. I would advise a room upgrade so you get a sea front room. We were on our balcony and felt part of the show. Looking out to sea was also lovely. The only disappointment was that the balcony does not have room for a table/chair so it was standing room only. The hotel has missed a trick here. This could be so much nicer! The superior room had everything Lovely big bed, coffee machine and fluffy bathrobes. The room was very tidy and clean. Breakfast was fine although things ran out regularly so it was a case of asking the staff to top things up (cups and plates too!).
This hotel was a great base from which to explore Nice. The 98 bus runs from outside the hotel so getting to the air port was a doddle. If you are staying in Nice during the canival book this hotel-it is just the ticket!

Room Tip: Book the superior room if you want a sea view. It would be daft to stay on the Cote d'Azur and n...

Excellent location and amenities. Breakfast superior. Right on the waterfront with easy access to parades. Hotel personnel friendly and helpful. Recently refurbished and, though our room did not have a view, it was very comfortable with modern furnishings. Shower was a bit peculiar. Would recommend this hotel

Not stayed here before although been to Nice several times. Great location and well equipped room. Good to have tea and coffee making equipment in room although very disappointed with aper cups - would expect better from a premier hotel. My room looked onto a well laid out internal courtyard/roof garden but felt a bit claustrophobic. I found the pillows uncomfortable, but that's probably just me - and I hated the lurid lime green paint! despite all this would stay here again.
