This is the second visit we have made to this hotel. Since the last time, the price had increased quite a bit due to refurbishment, so we were interested to see if this was justified.
The rooms were beautifully appointed, with tea and coffee making facilities, and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. We had a park view room with balcony, which also gave a view of the sea. As we like the windows open at night, there was some traffic noise but this can be avoided by using the air conditioning.
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. One couple in the party did not have their suitcase arrive until the following day, and the reception was only too happy to provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving kits etc to make their stay as enjoyable as possible until the luggage arrived the next morning. Reception also were able to give great tips and advice on sightseeing, so much so that we used them more that the tourist information office, which is only a couple of doors away, but whose staff weren't either as helpful or as knowledgeable.
Location perfect for the beach and the Old Town, and the bus to the airport stops right outside the hotel and just across the road coming from the airport - and at 4 euros is great value.
All in all, we had a great holdiay and wouldn't consider another hotel for any future trips to the Cote dAzur.

I decided to stay one night in Nice to rest during a car travel from Milan to Barcelona. Selected a hotel in front of the sea and went with low expectation. I was surprised, Nice seems to deserve a longer visit and the hotel seems as a perfect choice. In front of the beach, with beatiful sea views, seems just brand new. Once I can I will book a return to Nice and this will be the hotel.

Our first trip to Nice and we elected to stay at the Mercure Promenade des Anglais as it seemed a perfect location for the city.
It was, a short walk took us to the old town - Vieux Nice - the "beach" was across the road (shingle, but very popular) and uptown was about 15 minutes.
Our room was standard and looked into a square, so no balcony. It was clean and comfortable, but lacked hanging space. The breakfast (included in our rate) was buffet style and the selection was impressive. The breakfast staff all were cheery, friendly and helpful, as were the reception staff.
The view at breakfast, if you got a window seat, was on to the promenade and it was delightful to say the least.

We just left Nice and pretty much the Mercure spoiled our honeymoon. The customer service is below a 4 star hotel and the treatment we got from the front deak was unorganised, appalling and rude.

When we first checked in, they didn't bother to give us a properly smile, honestly we didn't feel welcome at all. On the second day, my husband became sick and had to rest at the hotel in the afternoon. However it wasn't much of rest when we received a call, yelling over the phone if we wanted our room serviced we had to leave in 2mins. I had to negotiate for 10mins so we could refresh ourselves.

On our last day to check out, it was a busy morning, they took their time with the other guests however when it to us, they quickly process our check-out with no smile or bye and asked us to put our baggage in the storage room ourselves. The storage had many other bags which we had to move, carry over and out.

Overall, the room is medium size, bathroom is not as clean with dirty grout and personally I dislike the smelll of room. Location is great if like the beach and swimming. However, what ive seen i would perfer closer to the old town. As mentioned, we felt the service is a joke and isn't worth your money. I bet a bit discriminated as we couldn't speak French and a young couple. Though Nice in general is beautiful, with people who are friendly and great service at the restaurants near by and around.

Fresh, modern, bright clean hotel. Excellent location for the seafront, and old and new towns. Staff are superb, so welcoming and helpful. They speak English (among other languages) and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Had seaview room which I thoroughly recommend...only downside was fact the balconies are too narrow to sit out on...but you can stand and enjoy watching the happy chaos of the Prom des Anglais below. Breakfast is available but can't comment as didn't take it (lots of eating places nearby). Overall, delighted with the Mercure!

Located ideally in Nice, with sea view rooms, walking distance to everything you need to enjoy the city. Friendly and helpful personnel. Room was clean but quite small and looked a bit cheap. Espresso machine. Balcony was not something where you can sit and drink coffee looking at the sea - just 40sm space to stay. First time in my life I saw two hotels in one building - three floors for mercure and the rest for le meridien. Unpleasant design of the building. Breakfast was good. Overall, for 320 euro/night you should expect something more.

Great location, right on the Promenade and less than a 10 minute walk to the old town. 15 minute walk to the train station where you can take the train to Cannes and Monaco. Bus 88 to the airport is practically outside the hotel.

Clean and tidy, aircon, basic facilities, tea and coffee in room.

Agree with the previous reviewer on the wifi front, very annoying that you have to keep re-registering to remain connected.

Would recommend this hotel.
