“Lovely rooms, fab roof top pool, great location right by the tram.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, especially our two days spent lazing by the roof top pool. Rooms were clean and spacious. Location was great, right by the tram which is a quick, cheap and air conditioned way to get around. And since the hotel is right by a tram stop you can never get lost! ( even if you do have to walk the tram rails home at 2am after a few too many drinks...its still only a 20 min walk) would definitely recommend this hotel.

My daughter and I stayed here for almost a week. The room was a good size, clean but the paint could have done with refreshing. The staff were helpful and friendly although the room was not ready when we arrived. The rooftop pool area was fine given it was rooftop, but beware if you order a drink that is not on the menu, it can be expensive. An iced coffee cost 8 euros the same as a cocktail but the food at the pool bar looked tasty and good value for money.
The location was good about a 10-15 minute walk from the old town but the tram stop is very close to the hotel. you buy the tickets at the stop, 1.5 euros single. If you are going to the train station the easiest way is by tram, we tried walking on the back roads first but it seemed very complicated so we gave up.

This is nice hotel close to the city and very close on the road for Cannes and Monaco. We found the room was a good size for a city hotel. The bar/restaurant served nice food but was very expensive, also and parking in the close garage.

Myself and my partner stayed here as part of a sightseeing holiday. When booking the hotel I asked for a high floor, non smoking and preferably overlooking the square/tramway. When we arrived we were on the first floor smoking room overlooking a group of homeless people who use the space between this hotel and the Novotel to sleep. We asked to be moved straight away but were told the hotel was full and we had to come back the following morning (I highly doubt it was full because it seemed rather quiet). The next morning we were moved to a higher floor but still with the same view, the hotel are aware of these homeless people but clearly make no effort to move them on which for a 4 star hotel I dont think is acceptable, I dont want that view on my holiday!

We found the room was a good size for a city hotel, and well decorated but the bathroom can definitely do with an update and as it has no ventilation we did notice it smelt damp. The breakfast in the hotel initially looked good but I dont understand not having a toaster or any jams etc and they do not seem to top up if you arrive in the last half hour or so of service which if they serve up until 10am I would expect to get the same as others who arrived earlier! Again definitely not up to 4 star standard especially considering the price.

The rooftop pool and bar was a massive bonus, although the pool is small and lacks enough sun loungers it had lovely views and was a great place to relax. The bar/restaurant served nice food but was very expensive, we did find the service very hit and miss also. On several occasions we asked for condiments and these never arrived, sometimes we would get bread and sometimes not and on one occasion my order was incorrect and I was told the rest would follow but it never did, we were offered free dessert in this case, but still only some of the staff seemed competant. Also no idea about the restaurant L'OLIVERAIE downstairs as it was never open during our stay although it is clearly advertised on the NH Nice website. We once tried to order room service but after calling several times and waiting ages we never got an answer so was really unimpressed - we had to go up to the terrace and pay several more euros for exactly the same meal.

Finally, the location of the hotel is fine, less than 5mins on tram to Vieux Ville / Beach, 5min walk to Carrefour supermarket and 10mins walk to Gare Riquer which goes to Monaco.

All in all an average hotel but definitely not a 4 star. Oh and the weight equipment in the gym is also broken!

Room Tip: You can request but it seems they take no notice to requests!

This was a very, very nice hotel in every respect. The rooms were large, the AC worked, the food was great. Very nice. The only downside was that it was a little out of the downtown. However, there was a tram stop in front of the hotel.

Not a bad hotel, located right next to the Acropolis which was perfect for me. A short 15 minute walk to the Sea. Room small by American standards but average for Europe. Rooftop pool and restaurant are nice features. Front desk very helpful and staff speak great English.

We stayed here in July for 3 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel is worn and dated but has a great roof-top bar and restaurant. The rooms are a good size but you can hear everything your neighbours are doing through the walls. We struggled falling asleep due to a baby crying in the next room and other guests slamming their doors.
Others have mentioned that the hotel it is half an hour walk from the main tourist area of Nice however the tram is just across the road and for £1.50 you can get to the main streets very easily. This didn't really worry us as you get to see more of the city.
The staff are not overly friendly and the only reason I would go back here is if they had a promotion on.
