“What a great hotel!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Arrived at villa victoria, and was immediately upgraded to a better room, and what a friendly greeting. Our room overlooked the garden, and was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great by french standards with a good selection on offer. The hotel is in a great situation with easy access to the beach. Coffee and cakes were served in the afternoon gratis.
All the staff were really friendly.
Highly recommend this hotel. We have usually stayed at the meridien( grumpy staff who make you feel like they are doing you a favour when you stay there! Not so at Villa victoria! Will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel in nice. Thanks to all of you at villa victoria

Room Tip: We had a superior garden room

If you're looking for a hotel in central Nice with car parking facilities, this is an option--although the carpark is in a tiny lot directly in front of the building. The neighborhood is good--and hotel staff assured us they have never had a problem with theft from cars parked there. You must reserve the parking place in advance. Cost 18 euros per day. The hotel has an attractive large back garden. It was too cold to use it during our November stay, but rooms on the back overlooking the garden have a pleasant, relatively quiet outlook--a boon in a bustling city. Our room was a bit small and dark (blue-gray walls and carpets! Why??) with a cramped shower room (although the shower itself was good). Didn't enjoy the hotel decor. Still there were a few nice touches--two free bottles of water in the room, a kettle to make your own hot drink. Free wifi in the room--worked well, though you have to keep re-signing in. Nice breakfast touch: You can make your own soft-boiled egg. Coffee out of a machine--always disappointing. Our off-season rate was 100 euros for the night including breakfast--good value for money. Incidentally the price was lower when we booked by phone directly with reception, rather than using an online system (we had to phone to reserve the car spot as they did not respond to our email enquiry). Staff generally pleasant and helpful. Would stay again despite ghastly decor.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the garden view.

We recently stayed here for five nights while exploring the local area. The hotel is in a pleasant street about 5 mins walk from the sea front and about 15 mins from Nice old town. The room was very good, but we found the beds to be a little hard. However the room was very quiet, overlooking the garden and had a good sized bathroom with hair dryer , shaving mirror etc. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice and the facility to boil your own eggs if desired! Overall we enjoyed our visit very much. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back overlooking the garden seem to be very quiet.

We stayed here 5 nights and is a great location to explore Nice. 10 minutes walk from the train station, old town and the promenade. The rooms were very clean, bed comfortable and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice, the dining room and gardens are a quiet haven away from the tourist bustle.

The hotel had a lovely garden in which to enjoy your buffet breakfast in the morning with too much food and coffee to list. The coffee and remaining croissants from the morning breakfast were enjoyed in mid-afternoon. We arrived by train and easily walked to the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful whether it was staff at breakfast, the desk, or cleaning the room. I still have visions of sitting in their garden and enjoying the setting. To me it was more than a comfortable hotel and bordered on luxurious!

This small hotel was just what we wanted. The room was comfortable and clean, with a fridge and kettle. It was quiet even though we were at the front, although we could hear some traffic. The garden was lovely, complete with cat. It is a short walk to the sea, past lots of different shops and restaurants, as well as little supermarkets. The staff were very helpful and friendly and Nice is a wonderful city to explore. This hotel was a brilliant base and we will stay here again.

The staff makes one feel special the moment you arrive.....They are extremely warm and seem bend over backwards to make you comfortable. Their breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever had in all my European travels. The rooms are elegant, refined and very comfortable. They have a beautiful garden that is beyond beautiful. I asked about arranging a taxi to take me to the airport and was told that they could offer a private car service at a much reduced cost....They really know how to treat you like royalty. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone....A diamond in the rough.
