Owner description: This Russian cathedral was built in the early 20th century in honor of the son of Aleksandr II tsarevich Nicolai, who died in Nice after failing to recover from tuberculosis.

When you actually see this Russian style cathedral it looks entirely out of place and it is like a smaller snapshot of the types of spires you would see at St Basils in Moscow ....... very interesting and worth a stroll - we went along Victor Hugo Boulevard and there were a few small parks on the way...... the cathedral is very impressive.

The orthodox Russians left the old country and immigrated to nice bringing their icons, pearls and traditions. There is still a Russian community around the church. It was built by a professor from st peterbourg and is beautiful and well worth the entrance fee

It is stunning. Read the guide. Women are required to cover their heads. Walk round the back to say hello to the dead Tsarevitch for whom this cathedral was built. His tomb is in the pavilion at the back

We went out of curiosity but it was worth teh effort. The building is superb to view from teh outside and teh grounds are a little haven of tranquility. Inside we participated in teh Sunday service...intersting and enlightening.

This wonderful place is a must that adds a little historical background to this town of Nice.Easy walking distance from rail station 'Ville Nice'. Ladies must wear a head scarf to enter and no shorts. Well prepared written information in most main languages. Closed on Monday's. No fee for entrance just respect and quiet for those in prayer. You are obliged to leave backpacks at the door where a guardian will keep an eye open for it.
