Richly ornated, lots of icons and treasures. It's said to be the largest russian cathedral outside Russia, but it is not very big at all. Good information about the treasures.

“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

One of the few Russian cathedrals outside Russia. We didnt allow enough time as we got there around 11.15 and it closes at 12 [and reopens at 2 I think] so we were ushered out at 11.55 so they could close the gardens then too, Lots of old icons and hany sheets in Englsih expalining them

“A photographic treat”

Information boards in English and other languages gave enough info about the church and the services without going into too much detail. Lovely architecture and a great contrast to the rest of Nice's buildings.

“a small part of Russia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

this church is wonderfull...its not so easy to get to as its slightly off the normal tourist trail and its not always open so check with your hotel first. Its a magnificiant building typical Russian Orthodox Church built for a visit many years ago by the Zsar and now the land around it and the church are owned by Russia....check out the history

“Wear the right clothes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

The cathedral is well worth a visit, approximately 20 mins walk from Gare SNCF Nice. There are clear signs at the Cathedral entrance of the dress code, no shorts or vests for men and no vest tops for ladies although shawls are provided for ladies to cover their shoulders. There are sheets provided in various languages for a description of the interior of the building, but I think the exterior is more impressive. Not as spectacular as I was expecting but worth a visit anyway.
