Owner description: This famous street travels along Nice's Mediterranean waterfront.

This is the place to see and be seen. It is very quaint with the Mediterranean on one side and its majestic buildings on the other side. One gets a sense of City and what it has to offer its visitors. It is a bit "turista" but then again people go to Nice to visit this famous boulevard.

The Promenade is quite wide, with marked lanes for bikes. Many sections have covered seating. The beach is odd--large stones, medium stones, a few places with sand but not many. It's vibrant--all ages, all modes of walking/jogging/biking. And across the street, hotels and restaurants.

The wide promenade that has stately structures in one side and the pebbled beach of Baie des Anges on the other makes this place a MUST when visiting Nice. The great width of this pedestrian area can easily accommodate everyone who wishes a mini-vacation from downtown Nice. The assortment of activities here is endless...sightseeing, swimming, sunbathing, roller-blading, cycling (Velo Bleu has many stations in this stretch) and when the sun sets, dancing, bar hopping, romatic strolling. The icing on the cake are is the grand Hotel Negresco and Palais dela Mediterannae, both 5-star hotels displaying the best examples of their architectural era.
