The museum is not very large, but it does have a couple of nice Yves Klein pieces. Walk up to the top floor of the building to get a view over the city.

I really love this museum. It has a fantastic design, almost like a modern-day castle, with four quadrants which span a busy crossroads where the traffic passes underneath the 'legs'!

Inside the museum is pure white which draws maximum attention to the colourful, playful art works on display. The Yves Klein and Niki de Saint Phalle permanent exhibitions in particular are fantastic.

This summer the temporary exhibition is based around Henri Matisse, in conjunction with all the main museums in Nice. You can get a week's pass for all eight museums in the project for 10€ which is highly recommended.

Even if ytou're not a huge fan of art, I would go up to the roof of the mueum to walk on the 'ramparts' and experience the view over the whole town!

I have only been here once and it was amazing! It was very funny to see something with straws stuck to pillows with a huge splodge of bright yellow paint being called art so every room kept me entertained for hours!
Obviously there are mixed views on this museum as modern art isn't for everyone. I, personally found it hilarious and would certainly encourage my family to go there as the sculptures especially are very, very special!!
It is a high building but once up all the escalators it isn't a thought to look down because even if you do, you are distracted by the odd sculptures outside!!
There is certainly something for everyone considering you like odd sculptures and paintings but to be honest, as the first modern art gallery I went to, I didn't know what i was expecting and i really was pleasantly surprised!
Sadly, we did not have time to see it all so will try and arrange a trip back there one day to see the rest of it.
