All types of modern art in an unusual building.

Much bigger than expected with different floors showing different types of art.

Definitely worth a hour or two if you are in Nice.

Entry can be free under certain circumstances or when combined with other Nice art galleries - but check as we were not quite sure how it worked.

The museum was well laid out and the roof top was interesting with it's varying level with train made out of plastic water bottles. It is art and that is in the eye of the beholder but we left uninspired.

This art museum is well laid out, so easy to follow a route designed by them. There is interesting French modern art - Niki de St Halle, who I'd never heard of, was weird, fun and interesting, and they had a couple of Klaes-Oldenbergs and Warhol. The rooftop terrace has a great view, and some fun gnome-like artists doing garden chores (eg was it Picasso mowing the lawn?).

I am not a fan of contemporary art however the modern works were interesting to look at, especially the Matisse/Matisse inspired exhibit. The art works could have been better labelled, it was difficult sometimes to work out which label belonged to which art work as the labels were clustered together on the side. To access the museum with buggy/wheel chair there is a lift to the left of the main stairs up to the museum. the main stairs are opposite the library. Within the museum there is a lift to all floors bar the terrace on the 4th floor. You also need to ask someone to call the lift when you want to go down. The loos are on the ground floor. Once back on the ground floor I don't think you can go round again but you can ask to use the loos after the visit. It was worth the visit but don't expect many great works of modern art here.

This is a good museum to visit. Very interesting artists are exhibited and pieces are well displayed. My family loved the blue bottle dress the best!
