It lives up to all the hype. A little off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Best part is they really do let you try all the flaves until you're ready ( unlike Finocchio). Easily beat gelto we tried in Nice, and we tried them all .

“BEST Icecream in the World!!!”
Reviewed January 29, 2010

No trip to Nice in France is complete without a visit to ARLEQUIN - 9 Avenue Malaussena (the continuation of Avenue Jean Medecin)

If you love icecream...then you will think that you have died and gone to heaven!! The flavours have to be tasted to be believed...They are really "true to life"

And the VARIETY of flavours. There are so many - one is spoilt for choice...But Roberto is happy for you to try before you decide on which ones you want to have in a cone or tub.

Am I raving about this place? ...YES I Am!! ..Try it for yourself ~ You will see why !!!

“Best Place for Icecream In Nice France”
Reviewed August 6, 2008

My husband and I love icecream...one could even say that we are icecream addicts. So where ever we go in the world we eat icecream...even in Russia in winter.

Our favourite icecream place in the whole world is L'Arlequin In Avenue Malaussena in Nice....which is the continuation of Rue Jean Medecin .

The range of flavours is immense...and completely true to life. Roberto the owner/chef is Italian, and as we all know Italians are passionate about their icecream...but Robeto has taken the passion to the highest level.

With such a huge range of great flavours it is difficult to name a favourite...but since I love nuts I must say pistachio (and hazlenut). My husband and I find it very diffcult, once we enter L'Arlequin, to leave, and Roberto is the perfect host. He simply insists on letting his customers try as many as they wish - before deciding on which to buy. Children love going to to L'Arlequin, and it is a real pleasure to watch their faces as the take their first taste. Pure joy!!!

We cannot recommend this place too highly. No one should visit Nice without making a visit to L'Arlequin - it is a taste of paradise.
