Ate here twice. Much better the second time. Can see why it is popular, Generally friendly staff. House wine is fine.

“A Gem!”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

OK so it is not in the best area of Nice - it is near the station. It is not delux accommodation, it is always packed and always there is a buzz of converstaion. However it is my favourite in Nice (and that includes the Michelin starred restaurants). It is what I remember from the 60s & 70s - a family run establishment serving wonderful home-made food in a friendly manner. I am somewhat reluctant to recommend it in case it becomes so popular that tables are difficult to reserve!

“Tasty food, good service, nice price”
Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

On my way to the airport, I visited this bistro. The menu is uncomplicated and offers sufficient to choose from.
The five courses from the menu I selected were served with amazing speed.
Each dish was quite tasty, leaving little to desire.
The price? €25 for the 5-course menu!

“Good regional cooking”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

The staff is friendly, the 3 course menus give excellent value of food which is typical of the region.
I discovered a new way of using up the swiss chard I grow at home - they made it into a tart with pine nuts and apple. All the desserts were very good but I did miss having cream with my tarts (coming from Devon!) There was good quality sea bass on a 19 euro 3 course menu, The starters were interesting and included small stuffed vegetables and lovely salads.
We had three meals here all of good quality. The location is good - a short walk south of the train station. We'll certainly return there next time we are in Nice.

“Excellent restaurant that serves homemade food.”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

I have been eating at this restaurant on numerous occasions for the past 30 years when I go to Nice on an annual basis to visit my family. The homemade food and the service have been consistently excellent over the years. This restaurant is very cosy and conveniently located within walking distance to shops, movie theaters and major touristic areas including the train station. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food offered.
