This is in the Old Town of Nice. We had been there when I first starting visiting Nice with my wife some 35 years ago. This year despite some disappointing experiences with restaurants in the Old Town in other visits we decided to go back to it.

The upstairs is now closed but otherwise is an attractive restaurant indoors and outdoors, that gets very popular and slightly crowded from 8pm onwards.

We had good service and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Wanted to go to Bistrot d´Antoine but they serve only till 1.30-2. So we walked through old Nice and found L´ecurie restaurant. Nice setting, quick and friendly service (for Nice standards) and tasty home made local meals you do not find in every turist restaurant around. You will find meals such as octopus stew on red wine, farcis nicois, rabbit dishes and really nice wood oven pizzas.

Not fist class dining but tasty and good value. Would not come for dinner but it is ideal for late relaxed lunch.

We were at l'ecurie this evening or dinner and the owners pride at his restaurant shines through. His passion for good food and great hospitality was fantastic. The current host/server's grandfather started the restaurant in the 1940's and his father cooked there for over 30 years, so he can't help but extol the joy of serving food and recipes, the family has been perfecting for decades.

The food was wonderful and the service was not pushy at all. He was quick to point to signature creations and make some great recommendations on a traditional french fare which is what we had.

We really enjoyed the hospitality and the food and to see such pride in what they do is truly endearing!!

Great atmosphere and great food. Great and fun service by Thomas and the team. Some street entertainment as we were dining!
