“Great owner, great stay”
Reviewed October 10, 2009

I am surprised by the mediocre reviews for this Bed and Breakfast. We had a great stay here - it's not fancy, but for the price it couldn't have been nicer. An very elegant old villa, run by Annie who went out of her way to feed us at all times of the day, and give us suggestions of things to do in the area. Safe neighborhood. We had use of the kitchen at any time - we made dinner here one night - there is a frozen foods market down the street and also a small grocery. A bus stop directly across the street goes to the train station and also down to the beach. We had to take short showers - Annie explained exactly how to do it and we found that many B&B's in Europe conserve water more carefully than in the US. I have to say that the bed was the most comfortable of all the beds I slept in during our two month long trip. Thank you, Annie! We will come back again.

Stayed here in oct 08 during a driving trip round france. The building is a bit old but we liked that. We got a space outside the B&B most days altho if it was full we easily found a space up the street. rooms a good size with quirky decor and showers good but only enough hot water for 1 shower at a time(altho thats maybe because we were the last up).Lovely breakfast but you do share it with 2dogs which didnt bother us. Owner is v helpful and gave us lots of ideas what to do ,see and eat while we were there, and we even changed our route plans after speaking with her. Free internet which was good for us booking hotels. Kitchen is basic, room cleaned daily. We had a lovely tiny balcony altho views werent the best but nice to have a seat outdoors. Good bus stops right outside the B&B but DONT GET A TAXI from the beach to the hotel - we did it once and for a 2min ride it was over 20euros!!!! Only 1euro for a bus ticket!! I would def recommend this if you dont expect luxury but instead like the laid back family touch.

Highly unadviced. The zone is nice but a little far from the city centre. The building is old and neglected. We could use the shower only for few minutes because hot water was limited. The B&B seems to be kind but some pieces of advice given were wrong.
No elementary hygienic rules are respected: two dogs are free to walk in the garden, in the hall, in the breakfast room, on the sofas. Bed sheets and towels smelles. We found a beattle in the bathroom and another one in the kitchen near the food!!

This may look a little tatty from the outside but the room was large, clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was fine and always hot water. The continental breakfast was very good, plenty of food, juice and coffee. The owner was friendly and helpful. We were met on arrival with coffee and cake.
The bus stopped right outside the entrance, with a frequent service into the centre for E1, or change bus and go onwards included in the same fare.
To gain entrance initially was the only problem - but the phone number is on the gate. Would go there again.
