I travelled with Nice pebbles who were excellent with great comms up to the stay and on arrival they are available 24 hours for emergencys which is nice security. They had put me in touch with friends in france who picked me up and dropped me off at the airport which was a great service around the same price as a taxi 35 euros but plenty of room in a big people carrier. Everything you could need is in this apartment, I mean everything air con, free wifi etc the public areas were also spotless, there wasnt to many english channels just news and disney but there is a dvd player so bring dvds. You could sit on the balcony and watch the world go by as I dont think it ever stops, in Nice people are on the beach having picnics at 10pm and there are always joggers and cyclists but you can close the door and stare at the sea and here nothing. There is a small lift and its on the sixth floor (which keeps you fit) so I wouldnt recommend families with young children. The downside would be the location, it is near the airport only 10 mins by car, but when it is really hot it is quite a walk about 20 mins to all the buzz which starts up at the corner of Macdonalds were there were plenty of restaraunts and shops etc. The bus there are plenty, can be accessed from across the road and is only 1.5 euros to go to most places and can get you to the heart which is around the old town in around 5 mins. The beach was a dissapointment grey pebbly stones which left a kind of grey powder on your clothes and towels, I expected the french rivieria to have stunning beaches, the only nice one we found is in Cannes which was sandy. The train station is the best place to get to Cannes and Monaco as the traffic is so heavy, the train takes you in half the time, 20 mins to Monaco, 7 mins to Villefranche sur mer and 40 mins to Cannes, the bus is the no.12 behind the apartment at the Avenue California across from the Piscina it takes around 10 mins drive to the train station, I found it to be always extremely busy at the train station, you have to queue for tickets so get there in plenty of time. The trains seemed to be quite efficient big double deckers with toilets. Nice is a good gateway to see the Cote D Azur and I would definitely recommend a visit.
