This hotel is in a stunning location and comprises a wonderful country farmhouse with beautiful but unloved gardens. The room was spotless and comfortable and had a small terrace with a great view of the surrounding hills. The italian restaurant serves excellent but expensive food, I could have eaten anything on the menu and would have had a great meal. These are the positives.
But unfortunately the hotel is let down by its staff. Whilst entirely polite and courteous there was no warmth in their welcome or in providing service which was perfunctory at best. It seemed at times that staff levels were low, both breakfast and dinner ware served by a girl on her own. The hotel was quiet during our visit and the buffet breakfast contained the meanest quantities I have ever seen, clearly put out on a waste not want not basis.
The hotel has no real bar to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink nor does it have any lounges or common areas, it left the impression that this was more a B & B than the upmarket hotel it claims to be.

The hotel is in a great and convenient location.
The Italian cuisine is perfectly fine.
We didn't spend much time at the hotel as we were busy visiting the area but the time we spent there was very relaxing and comfortable.
Would recommend it as a base for visiting the area due to the closeness to the sea and the mountains and also to the autoroute.

This gem of a place never disappoints and is perfectly located and blissfully quiet. The big secret really is that it has a very good restaurant attached with beautifully cooked Italian style food. Really, you should go. And please don't take your children .. it's much too good for them!

A beautiful hotel in a great location but completely ruined by the attitude of the Manager. He is supremely rude, arrogant and unhelpful, almost taking pleasure in being unpleasant. The topic of conversation around the pool whilst we were there was how unbelievably rude he was! One family left early and went to another hotel in Mougins whilst we were there and another couple were not happy and complained about his attitude. Any complaints are met with arrogance - he told one family to leave if they didn't like it rather than trying to improve his manner to make things better. Even when I had fallen down a flight of stone steps and was lying in our room covered in blood, he was more interested in whether we would still be able to check out on time rather than whether I should go to hospital! He offered no assistance and we had to find a local hospital ourselves. He also sat and watched whilst an arriving couple struggled with their suitcases and proceeded to ignore them. His attitude permeates the whole place and makes what could be a perfect hotel into an unpleasant experience. What a shame....

We are very surprised to have this bad advice regarding a stay in 2007 from a new Trip advisor member. Curiously it was writing the same day that we refused this family following our previous experiences with them in the interest of the peace for our other hotel guests.
we are not perfect but we are not so miserable

We are just back from a 5 nights stay with our 3.5 yrs old son.
The location is spot on, very close to main highways in the area so moving around is very easy, the property is located in the middle of a residential area, on a small hill, surrouded by pines. The main building is superbe, and the swimming pool is on its side, just by the Italian restaurant. The property is conveniently located 3-4 km away from the amazing "old village" of Mougins that is probably the nicest "hiped" village in the south of France as it is not the "tourist trap of Gordes or the "tourist coach magnet" of Les Baux or the posh Saint Paul de Vence.

The restaurant offers very good "gastro-italian" food, evening menu prices are on the expensive side ( about 90 euros / head if you go for starter / main / dessert and a bit of wine ), service is amateur but friendly - the show of the Italian maitre d'hotel. We only had dinner there once as the area offers all you need, and you can get some very good food at the village - we went to the Bistro on the back of the front desk recommendation and loved it, the Brasserie was overpriced and poor.

The front desk is very usefull and knowledgable about the area.

Now the bad points... Service is poor, this means you can expect to have breakfast served by just one person for the whole place that is struggling to cope with it, and you will almost have to do the table yourself if you come at rush time, while you will get your expresso by the end of the breakfast and the buffet might be empty as they have to refill it. They are doing their best but clearly they do not live up to the standards you would expect of a 4* hotel - we were the week before in one of those relais-chateaux where service was perfect so the difference was big.

Service is equally poor when it comes to cleaning, the bathroom looked dirty - we told the front desk but they explained it was because we were i one room that had not been renovated yet - especially around the shower and toilets, but it was beyond that, to give an example we loved the shower gel and despite 3 attempts to show to the cleaner it was empty after 2 days we never got a replacement one, just a small example that shows really not what you would expect when paying 350 euro / night.

So go for the location, it is probably one of the best area in south of France, eat there once then move around, but if you need "relais-chateaux like" service then just do not bother, go to Provence where you will get those for cheaper.
