The condition of the garden and the palace is very poor! They should invest some money to keep it attractive for visiters.
It could be a real attraction but...Sorry

“Surprising”

Small palace with delightful art. It was the Summer Palace of Grimaldi royalty hundreds of years ago. The exhibition we saw last year paintings of Menton. The Citrus garden is fascinating.. Hundreds of varieties. Worth taking a tour, if you can follow the French them in French.

“Shabby elegance...and it's free!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2012

At one time the Grimaldis had a fabulous view of the mountains and the sea...now you have to use a bit of imagination, but the place still has a "special" air. The gardens are lovely, dotted with sculptures and the perfect place to have a quiet bit of bread and cheese. The palace itself has become the property of Menton, and like so many public buildings is in general need of maintenance. Like a former great beauty queen though it retains tons of charm. The paintings inside are interesting enough to warrant a visit, but my favorite part was the ornate interior decor-walls and ceilings with amazing detail. Sadly you cannot snap pictures inside. They really should photograph some of the decorations and make postcards; I would have bought several.

“Loved the Kim Boulukos sculptures in the Museum and in the Garden”

No photographing inside, or I would have taken some of the fanciful collection of "dog nest" oeuvres and posted them here.
Lovely building needs renovation.

“Pleasant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2011

Great building although in need of maintenance, this is one of the old place of the Grimaldi! There is always a good exhibition ( sculptures or paintings) to see there. The gardens have been updated with a variety of plants and new paths and it is lovely to walk around or just sit and enjoy the wonderful weather of Menton in this quiet and shady yard.
