My husband and I recently returned from a very enjoyable break in Menton. The hotel is on the very end of Menton and around a 20 minute walk to the town center, but it is a very pleasant stroll down the promenade.
We stayed in the superior sea view room - it's not very big but has everything you need and it's spotless.
We loved the balcony with the view of the sea and town. The service was professional and attentive. I asked for the room on the higher floor as I am a sensitive sleeper, there was no problem at all. When we closed the balcony door we could not hear any external noise at all and I slept really well.

There is a private beach called Elsa Plage with sunbeds, restaurant, toilet facilities across the street from the hotel.
There is a bus 100 going to Monaco and Nice (very picturesque route), the nearest stop is around 200m from the hotel; bus 110 Airport / Menton service stops right opposite the hotel.

If I go back to Menton I will gladly stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is stylish having enjoyed a recent makeover yet had character. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast good if a bit expensive.

Was just able to squeeze in one night weekender with my wife, so flew to Nice and looked for place with the character of the old Riviera and picked Menton - 35 minutes from Nice Railway Station. However a great tip: you don't need to get a bus from the airport to Nice train station and then travel on the hot train where you often can't get a seat - there is a bus that goes from the airport T1 and has a request stop just by the door of this hotel So this really is a very good choice logistically for a quick break.

The location of the hotel has advantages and disadvantages. It is across the road the from the stunning beach, yet rooms are not noisy with windows closed/the ac works fine. You do need to know it is is a 15 minute walk from the heart of Menton. however it is a wonderful walk along the beach promenade and means it doesn't suffer the noise of the bars and restaurants closer to town.

Room Tip: I agree with with other reviewers it is worth paying a bit extra for a sea view and balcony.

Lovely hotel, staff are every pleasant and the hotel has a great seafront location. We drove and were lucky enough to get a parking spot, however there are literally 8/9 spots for the whole hotel so if you go out for the day you risk losing your space which isn't really clear when booking. Our 'mountain view' room wasn't really a mountain view as we were on the first floor and simply had a view of the street - again not a major problem but didn't tally up with the pics when booking was made.

My second stay at the hotel, which continues to impress with good quality accommodation, lovely views across the bay, and a really good breakfast buffet on the terrace. The 'Petit Prince' restaurant downstairs is to be recommended. Visiting rugby fans should be sure to pay a visit to the grave of the game's founder, William Webb Ellis, who is laid to rest in the Vieux Chateau cemetery above the port.

Prince de Galles was a very nice experience. The rooms are newly renovated. The traffic outside is noisy but the rooms are almost soundproof. Be sure to get a room with sea view - it's fantastic. The breakfast was very good. Service at the reception was excellent. The hotel is located appr. 1,5 km away from the Old Town - and many of the restaurants. We did hire some bikes and used them a lot.

Room Tip: Sea view is imortant. Hire some bikes!
