This restaurant is to be found in the picturesque rue Longue and is worth making the effort to find. The restaurant is small and charming. The appeal of the food lies, not only in the delicious flavours, but in the presentation of the meal served on a skewer and then flamed at your table in front of you. Make sure you have your camera poised!!

We have now become regular customers of this special and wonderful restaurant. Our two friends from Key West came to visit us for the week and we decided to let them in on our little secret. The chef-owner, Christian, makes you feel like you are visiting his home, not a restaurant. The selection of food, vegetables and of course, the liqueurs are splendid. Christian gives you a test after each liqueur asking you if you knew what the liqueur contained. Very charming.

If you are looking for a true Menton experience, not a fast paced tourist trap, rather a wonderful home cooked meal with family service, this is the place for you. All you need to bring is your patience as the meal is a 3 hour experience. As Americans sometimes we forget the beauty of sharing time with your friends over a good meal, good drinks and good fun without rushing to get the check.

We strongly recommend this Menton jewel!

Lovely spot, one of the few (according to travel guides the only one) in authentic true Old Town of Menton (closeby harbor beaches, definitely worth exploring, rewarding little stroll).

Menu requires some exploring, quite a few options: we took the €30 per person with very originaliteit aperitif + faboulous aubergine with additions as entree + a good glass of Provence wine + free flow of tap water + fresh foie gras pan seared with matching stuffed courgette/zucchini flowers. Waiters do their best for you. Good choice of good plus affordable wines!

Just go there! Avoid the tourist traps......enjoy

We went here early and had no problem getting a table for 4 in this small but cosy restaurant. The knowledgeable and friendly waiter explained the specialities of this restaurant and we left it into his and the chef's hands for what turned out to be a memorable excellent dining choice! We took the 34€ pp menu that sampled the best of all; aperitif, starters, and main courses of fish, pork or beef - all brought in front of you on a flaming skewer! Desserts and coffee and a glass of wine included! Tucked away in the centre of Menton, the best way to access would be to walk along the seafront until coming to the steps in front of the church and taking the first street on the right.

The feature of this restaurant is the way the food is served for the main course - which I'll come on to. The location is up one of the ancient narrow streets which are worth the walk. Menton is an interesting town but the main high street is not overly appealing, so make the short walk up to this little hideaway. There are a range of menu options to cover fish and meat lovers and the starters and desserts which accompany the main event are all good. However, I suspect the main reason people visit here is the 'Brochettes verticales flambees' - the vertically mounted skewers of meat/fish/veg which are set alight at your table. Well worth it for the spectacle and not bad tasting food either. Good fun, good food, but not fine dining. Intimate dining room won't suit everyone, but I quite liked it. The Chef does everything from welcoming you to taking your money, so service may appear a little slow, but he's working his socks off and the quality of the experience doesn't suffer as a result.
