We stayed for 3 nights at this newly renovated place in Menton. The town has plenty of hotels, many with sea view, some with pool, but Hotel Lemon has Character.
Chambre 15, with a functional bright red bathroom really made the stay. The new owners did a great job with the renos, keeping the rooms in Character with the age of the building.

Very clean, offering a simple breakfast served in the garden area, within a 4 minute walk to the beach, all that for a price unheard of anywhere along the Cote d'Azur.

Room 16, where our kids stayed was slightly smaller, but it had a common area connected to our room which was convenient.

My friend and I loved this hotel. It is within yards of Menton railway station (and very close to the bus station) yet was also very peaceful and quiet.

The guy on reception was lovely and spoke very good English. Our room was fairly small but perfectly adequate and very nicely decorated with traditional furniture and a modern shower room and toilet complete with complimentary toiletries. There was also a flat screen TV and alarm clock and phone. We thought the room rates were extremely reasonable. There's a lovely graveled garden to the front of the hotel with tables, chairs and parasols and it was lovely just sitting there escaping from the hustle and bustle and drinking coffee (supplied by lovely reception guy, at a very reasonable price).

We were made to feel very welcome and the area around the hotel felt safe to walk around in late at night. I would have no hesitation in staying there as a female solo traveller. Hopefully I will be back.
