“Great location and comfortable room”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

My husband and I stayed at Le Grand Pavois in Juan les Pins, Antibes at the end of July for 4 nights. We were very happy with the location which was far enough away from the busy waterfront to be quiet but only a 5 or 10 minute walk from many retaurants, the beach and shops. The lobby was lovely and included a large attractive sitting room with a piano and a separate dining room where breakfast was served. Unfortunately the lobby was not air-conditioned so no one wanted to linger there.
Our room was a very nice size by French standards and included a mini-fridge to keep water and snacks in. We also had a small balcony with electronic shutters that kept the morning light out nicely. The bed was very comfortable. There were a couple of negatives which account for the 4 stars instead of 5. The carpeting did not look as if it had been vacuumed when we arrived. The bathtub was high and awkward to get out of. There was a safety bar to grab but it was not positioned well.
The staff were very nice and always answered our questions about transportation and dining as best they could. The hotel could have had more in the way of train and bus schedules available for guests to help themselves to. Some recommendations for restaurants, events and things to do would also be helpful.

We had a junior suite. It was very spacious with a huge bathroom. The hotel is two minutes from the beach and five minutes from a variety of restaurants. Breakfast is overpriced but there are bakeries two minutes away. The hotel was very clean. Some of the front desk staff were fantastic..others not so much. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony. The junior suite is a very nice size and fits three people very comfo...

My husband and I stayed at the le Grand Pavois in Juan-les-Pins and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.
We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a Juniour Suite on arrival and the room was huge with a large and very comfortable bed and a balcony which was lovely to sit out on of an evening. The room also had a very nice bathroom with a large bath. The hotel is a short walk to both the beach and the town centre where there are some lovely boutique shops and restaurants, it is fairly lively at night but it is fare to say there are only 2 bars that get very busy, you should also be aware that the drinks in all the bars are VERY expensive at 12 euros a drink!! It is definitely cheaper to drink wine than anything else including lager....
If you catch the train to Antibes station, do NOT expect to get a taxi you need to arrange one before you arrive and expect to pay 25 euros for a 10min journey, however my recommendation is that you catch the next train up one stop to Juan-les-Pins which cost a euro!
Also you can catch the train from Juan-les-Pins direct to Nice airport to Nice St Augustin for 7 euros and can then walk 10 minutes to the airport (or catch the bus if you have too many bags) but definitely very easy and convenient.
My last recommendation is that the beach gets very, very busy very early, but if you walk further down the front it does become less busy.
I would definitely recommend the Best Western le Grand Pavois for both comfort and value for money.

Room Tip: We just booked the standard double but were fortunate enough to be upgraded on the day, i did ask fo...

The hotel is in an ideal location: up a quiet road and just a (pleasant) five/ten minute walk away from bars, restaurants, a supermarket and the promenade. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I opted for a comfort room for our seven night stay there which meant we got the added bonus of a fridge and a balcony. Although we had to pay extra, it was well worth it. Our room was spacious enough for the both of us and the bathroom was also a decent size. Both were cleaned every day and our towels were changed too- another plus. Additional perks included a powerful shower and a very comfy bed. Our package included breakfast and this turned out to be a help yourself, continental buffet (croissants, breads, meats, eggs, cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, juice, etc). Even though it was pretty simple, we really enjoyed it and often had seconds if not thirds of most things!

Room Tip: Room overlooking the church if possible. Beautiful view and gets the sun from about 5-8

This hotel is set a little way back from the sea front, 2 minutes walk and you can be paddling in the warm blue sea, I didnt see a car park so parked our hire car on the narrow side road, this proved to be a mistake as it was scratched slightly by the small street cleaner as they cleaned the pavements next morning , walking through the entrance into a light and airy reception to be met by a smiling receptionist who spoke very good English . My room large with comfortable double bed and also a sofa bed , had all facilities you,d expect from a hotel of this standard, telephone , minibar , tv. (You have to pay to watch). Separate bathroom with over bath shower . . Very good nights sleep , and followed by nice breakfast with good choice of continental or cooked available . Would definitely stay here again .

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view if possible ,

We would recommend this hotel and would likely come back for another visit.
Only one weak point, the internet connection: it allows to connect only equipment at a time, which is really sub standard especially in the perspective of having events in the coming new convention center.
