AC Hotel by Marriott Ambassadeur Antibes- Juan les Pins
Ranked #10 of 47 Hotels in Juan-les-Pins
Reviewed August 10, 2012

When I was staying in this hotel, it was just a few month before the conversion to AC Hotel. The rooms was ok, I especially liked the terrace. Some guest areas like the glass elevator and the meeting rooms have shown some serious signs of wear and the rates in the restaurant were close to extortion (65 EUR for 2 cokes and 4 omelettes, after waiting 45 minutes for it) One place I would like to highlight. The bar and the pool in the back of the hotel are a great place to relax and have lunch... Room Service was fine, food a mixture of French and International cuisine. Breakfast was below average in terms of choice and quality...all in all an ok stay, but wait until refurbished...

I stayed here with 4 of my girlfriends in late August 2011 - and it was a really nice experience!

We had 2 pool view rooms on the 6th floor, 1 room for 1 week and 1 for 4 nights. Amanda at booking was really helpful with making sure we got the kind of rooms we preferred (floor, beds, rooms close to each other), and with information etc.

The rooms were very nicely renovated and with beautiful, modern decor. Comfortable beds, nice balconys, nice bathrooms. Housekeeping was good, rooms were always well cleaned.

We did not have any meals at the hotel so I cannot comment on breakfast/restaurants, but the staff at the bar were very service minded - we could borrow ice buckets for the rosé wine we enjoyed at our balcony, buy snacks to take to the rooms etc.

We also really liked the private beach club - the staff there took really good care of us all day and were very attentive. We had lunch there once (good!) and drinks/coffee every day.

The hotel is well situated, only a few minutes' walk from the "main street" with pubs, bars and shopping. And 1-2 more minutes to the beach. We found nice places to have breakfast on the way from the hotel to the beach.

We never stayed by the pool, but the area looked really beautiful from our balcony - which was a great place to enjoy drinks in the afternoon sun before going out in the evenings!

The only negative: One or two of the reception staff were maybe not the friendliest, but others were really nice, so no biggie.

I should mention that when we were there, they had just started a major building project on the "city view" side of the hotel. It was a year ago, so they may have finished that - but if not, then it is probably worth it to pay a little extra to be on the pool view side of the building.

We liked Juan les Pins - and the hotel - so much that we are actually going back in 2,5 weeks, for this year's girls' holiday!

Room Tip: If they are still building next door (they were starting summer 2011), then probably worth it to get...

Stayed in Juan Les Pins at Hotel Ambassadeur for a few days last year, returning again in September, excellent location for JLP and Antibes, clean, bright rooms, good sized balconies, delicious breaksfasts.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the gardens is the best

Can't begin to say what a big disappointment this place was. We stayed for 2 nights and then checked into the Bestwestern Astoria down the street for a better experience.
Here are a few of many reasons why this place is not the place to stay:
1) Not in Antibes! It is in a lower class town 20 minutes away called Juan Le Pins
2). Room was not anything special
3). Breakfast buffet - not as good as other hotels in same class
4) a charge if you want to sit in a pool chair
5) their "private" beach is 2 blocks away and difficult to find - again a big Charge to sit on a chair and there is not a square inch of sand without a chair on ot. Super tiny. Must buy their food and drink. You may not bring in your own. Food was low quality and over priced.
6) bathroom had skimpy toiletries and no cream rinse.
7. We booked it as AC Marriot but there is no exterior sign that says Marriot. Finding it was a bit of a pain.

Room Tip: Make sure to not stay in Juan Le Pins where this hotel is located. Stay in Antibes - nicer beach, r...

Not the least expensive of hotels but good value for money. Very comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff, and an excellent restaurant. My only quibble is that the hotel imposes an additional charge (not disclosed before arrival) both to use its own beach (not far from the hotel and with a good bar/restaurant on site) AND effectively to use the hotel pool - the charge is for use of a sunbed. The hotel management explained that this is to discourage guests from trying to reserve more than one sunbed by putting out towels on them (hm .... I wonder who they could be talking about), but that could be better managed than imposing an additional charge (10 euros per sunbed per half day, or 15 euros per full day)

Room Tip: Worth asking for a poolside view as otherwise the rooms overlook the town ... and in the case of the...

I stayed here in 2011 for a business trip and somehow at that time the pool and surrounding area was all under construction, which made the whole place look quite sad...
The hotel building itself is ok, the rooms are nice with enough light and space. The staff is perfectly friendly. Besides, the location is just great.
Overall, I enjoyed my short stay here. It was good value for the money I paid and I bet now, once the construction work is finished, the place is actually much much nicer.

Ambassadeur has recently been renovated with great result. The rooms are new, clean and stylish but be sure to book a room with view over the pool-area since there is a big construction-site in front of the hotell.
The hotel is great but they charge you for using the pool-area wich for me is totally unacceptable and thats why I am keeping my rate low for this place.
