I have recently stayed at Hotel des Mimosas for just under 2 weeks. I found the place simply delightful. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and made my stay very comfortable. It is a wonderful building with good sized rooms and friendly well appointed communal areas which facilitate social interaction between guests.
My room, 28, was on the top level so I had a wonderful view across the pool and over the town toward Nice.
The hotel has lovely grounds and a fantastic pool area where you can luxuriate and relax in true Riviera style.
It is well located being close to the beach, good restaurants and transport. Antibe is also within walking distance.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with a personal touch this is the place to book.

I spent 15 days at this hotel and have nothing but positive things to say. The large converted mansion is quite special, the large lobby always made me feel like i was coming home, and the surrounding gardens are magnificent. The staff were easliy some of the best i've ever dealt with. They constantly had me laughing on a daily basis and were very willing to have a good chat and extremely helpful with any questions about the surrounding region.
I had one of the smaller rooms on the ground floor and i found it perfect for what i needed, and very clean. I always had a great nights sleep. Most mornings, I also enjoyed the breakfast the hotel offers, usually down by their lovely pool area.
The Hotel itself is a short walk from the beach and many great stores and restaurants. You could even walk to Antibes if you wanted. It's also very close to the train station, which is a great option to quickly get to places like Cannes, Nice and Monaco.
I had a great time staying here and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of travelling to that area of France. It was definitely a unique experience and would love to come back.

Room Tip: Easy, smaller rooms are cheaper...larger rooms are more expensive :)

I really enjoyed staying here. Probably the highlight of my trip to France. Waking up looking out over the pool and seeing the palm trees was such a nice way to start the day. The breakfast was simple but delicious and only ten Euros.

The hotel oozed old school charm with persian rugs and antique furniture. The hotel was old but the place was bright, clean and spotless. The beds were really comfortable and our room big for France.

Considering that our stay was for the duration of the Cannes film festival and completely booked out, I think it was quite reasonably priced.

The staff were always so helpful and friendly even when a young couple were extremely rude demanding refunds from an online booking. I think they must have had a better offer. I even left a tie behind which they sent home with another Australian that was stayng there.

Anyway I highly reccomend this hotel.

I feel terrible writing such a bad review as the owner of this hotel is an old lady who has obviously owned this hotel most of her life. she loves it, sees it every day and probably would refuse to listen too criticism as it is her baby. She is also very nice and tried her best. UNFORTUNATELY this does not help us!

Good points:

When you arrived this hotel looked beautiful! From the outside this hotel looked just like the photos, lovely manicured gardens a well kept pool and old fashioned pool furniture which looked nice as it was an old building... it looks grand and youll be pleased at your first impression from the outside! outside only!!!

Bad points:

It is a shocker!! the whole place inside is a disaster!! one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. The entrance is shabby, the reception is shabby with fiffty year old keys, the reception area has old fashioned white leather furniture which is so old it has cracks on them and carpets with stink and must easily be 30 years old...

The rooms are just terrible. Again, need a massive refurb and fast, the bathrooms are white suites with dirty grout, flaking paint on the windows and one didnt even open. The windows have bars on them so you feel trapped inside. The bedroom is discusting, Old ornaments, tiny tv from fifteen years ago, cupboards which have flaking paint inside. I got itchy from the bed covers too. The rooms were boring, old, and looked clean but smelt of old.....

i stayed here for two nights and woul dhave left if i had not given half the money upfront.

Apart from the lady owner the other reception staff are rude, miserable and try to make you commit what time you will be eating breakfast which is annoying as you are on holiday.

One night we walked in and there was a family eating Doner Kebabs in the reception area with no shoes on watching loud tv. It stunk and no one did anything about it. It really was awful.

The place isnt even cheap, if it was £50 a night you might just about accept it but 130 plus for a rubbish room is not acceptable.

I am sorry to have to write this but do not waste your money. For those who have said it is like an old french traditional house, you are wrong!! it is not, i have stayed in them and this is an old hotel stuck in the 1970's.

seriously do not waste your money!

Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. From the moment you walk through the gates you are met by the sight of beautifully cared for gardens and pool area.
The hotel itself is a large converted mansion. All the staff are very friendly & polite. Our room (9) was in what they called the mezzane part of the hotel. It was on the ground floor, comfortable, tastefully furnished, with plenty of cupboard/hanging space (& hangers!!) & included a fridge, safe, good hairdryer,air-conditioning, with towels/sheets changed daily. The shower room was compact but had an enclosed excellent, powerful shower (constant hot water & no water leaking over the floor!).
The room was fairly dark as it had tree cover outside the window & did not have a balcony, but still suited us well.
You can have breakfast at the hotel, we did not take this up, but rather walked to the seafront for all our meals. It was a shame the hotel did not do meals/snacks as the terrace would have been a very pleasant place to eat, although you could order drinks/tea/coffee all day.
The pool area was beautiful & peaceful, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds, with sunny & shady areas available & some really cool chairs where you could sit with your feet in the water!!
It is a quiet, predominately adult hotel.
The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, shops & restaurants. The airport bus (250) stop is 5/10 min walk from the hotel & the train station approx 10/15 min walk. You can walk to Antibes, as we did, & this took us approx 30 mins, but it is over a fairly steep hill!
It is an excellent base to visit other towns on either side of Juan-les-Pins, we were able to visit Cannes,Nice,Monaco & Menton easily on the very efficient railway.
If we ever return to Juan-les-Pins we would definitely return to this hotel & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality, reasonably priced hotel in this area.

Room Tip: There are various rooms at this hotel, some with small balconies some with terraces, depending on wh...

This was a lovely hotel at a short walking distance from the beach. It was really quiet and had a wonderful pool and nice sun loungers. They were a little bit stingy with the breakfast, but then that's the French for you :) The room we had was small but perfectly adequate and for the price it was excellent value to be in that location. I would highly recommend it and definitely return.

Room Tip: We went for the cheapest room, but the ones on the front with the balconies looked really nice. But...

We stayed for 4 nights in a room overlooking the beautiful pool and gardens and with a little balcony to enjoy an evening glass of wine. The staff were all charming and breakfasts (served by the pool/garden) very French and delicious. It was refreshing to be in a family run hotel with so many personal touches and very comfortable lounges should the weather not be perfect. As others have said, the sandy beaches and town are just a short walk and the bus stop to go to Cannes and Nice are at the end of the road. This hotel is a lovely in every way.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are worth the extra for the lovely view over pool and garden.
