I have skied numerous times in Isola 2000 since 1990. One of it's main attractions is the proximity to Nice - an hour and a half by car, 2 hours by the excellent Santa Azur bus service (which goes from Nice central, via the airport several times a day - Google "Lignes d'Azur - 100% Neige skibus or ligne 750). The fare is just 1 euro or 4 euros each way fir the bookable bus. The resort can be skied by any competent skier in a weekend, or even a day, BUT the runs are varied enough to make it relatively interesting. It is spread over three separate areas, all conveniently linking up. It is excellent for beginners and nervous intermediates, with a massive long blue and green piste running the entire length of the resort. There are three blacks which are mildly challenging insofar as they have a few narrow steep sections with large bumps (bosses/moguls) and some lovely off piste possibilities after a snowfall through trees. Very friendly for a French resort and not as expensive as the main Alps. 2 supermarkets (Sherpa) one has a butcher. Would recommend for a long weekend - fly out with EasyJ or BA (cheap deals in the winter as this is ordinarily a summer destination) and catch the bus.
