I have skied numerous times in Isola 2000 since 1990. One of it's main attractions is the proximity to Nice - an hour and a half by car, 2 hours by the excellent Santa Azur bus service (which goes from Nice central, via the airport several times a day - Google "Lignes d'Azur - 100% Neige skibus or ligne 750). The fare is just 1 euro or 4 euros each way fir the bookable bus. The resort can be skied by any competent skier in a weekend, or even a day, BUT the runs are varied enough to make it relatively interesting. It is spread over three separate areas, all conveniently linking up. It is excellent for beginners and nervous intermediates, with a massive long blue and green piste running the entire length of the resort. There are three blacks which are mildly challenging insofar as they have a few narrow steep sections with large bumps (bosses/moguls) and some lovely off piste possibilities after a snowfall through trees. Very friendly for a French resort and not as expensive as the main Alps. 2 supermarkets (Sherpa) one has a butcher. Would recommend for a long weekend - fly out with EasyJ or BA (cheap deals in the winter as this is ordinarily a summer destination) and catch the bus.

We enjoyed a great stay in a private chalet in Isola 2000. These chalets seem to be the only option for a great stay in a more luxurious setting. There are no 4 or 5 star hotels in Isola 2000!!! We enjoyed good food at the Cow Club and great lunches and dinners at Le Refuge. Le Refuge is a new chalet restaurant and altibar and by far the nicest establishment in Isola 2000. You must stop for a visit and book the beautiful evening package at night. Unbelievable!!
The slopes were very well groomed and there was plenty of snow. We will be back.

Having just returned from a weeks family ski holiday have got to say how impressed we were with the choice of activities (free) that Isola offered for the whole family. Night skiing, evening sledging competitions, torch lite descents, treasure hunts on the slope, all offered with free chocolate chaud or vin chaud! Snow boarding jump/stunt event on the Saturday with drinks & BBQ,use of Rossingal latest equipment &indoor inflatables & knitting/crochet events during the day! Flyers available in tourist office (& wifi) so worth visiting! Would have loved to taken advantage of the Zen pool experience with massages at the local piscine in Isola (13km) away - pity the €1 euro airport bus didn't coincide with this event!
Yes this is a dated 70's purpose built resort , but offers s great variety of skiing for families or mixed ability groups with (I would imagine) ski in & ski out of most if not all the accomodation all season! We shall be back!!

This is our third skiing holiday in Isola 2000, this time staying in a Time Share Le Bristol, which was fantastic, right near the roundabout where you get off in the town, close to the town and slopes. So very clean, fantastic management, fab views, everything you needed.

The resport improves each time, the staff in the bars/cafes/restaurants are always so polite and accommodating. The resort is such a fun, even when you have been to bigger places like Courcheval, Isola does not disappoint the best skier. This time the snow was fantastic and the sunshine was out, the music was playing from the many bars, what fun!

Although the resort is not regarded as being chic or stylish, there was lots of snow in January, as it always seems as thought there is, (there are lots of snows cannons anyway) and the weather was sunny. Just perfect for a a short ski break.
